1 game doesn’t prove who the better player is or will be...

This is AD vs Giannis in head to head match up

AD: 36/10/5/3

Greek Freak: 34/11/7

-

AD: 30/9

Greek Freak: 32/11/6

These games were played in recent seasons, let’s not jump over the bridge based on 1 game, Davis has always played well against Giannis.

That could be a big factor as well, I have seen a lot of criticism regarding AD since the game yesterday, it’s idiotic and absurd, Davis is probably the only player that can give Giannis fits.

Quote #1, yes even though these guys aren’t playing we should be giving better EFFORT & winning some of these games. My thought is it seems like he pick & chooses when he wants to dominate or just wait until it’s dire & probably too late?

Quote #2, I’m baffled & shocked how many times he gets nicked up, hits the floor, etc… etc… We didn’t hear of this while playing in New Orleans, but I’m more concerned about his body frame & inability to add weight & muscle on his lower frame! Hence the reason psychologically not wanting to play center until end of games, cause we get eaten up in the paint nowadays cause no one is afraid to attack the rim since the bubble… Hey, if AD had Boogies 3pt ability I’d say no brainer play a real center majority of game. IMO, AD is much better defensively helping out off ball but last night’s game vs. Gianiss he didn’t take on the challenge, but most of all Vogel had NO answer for defending him while the book is out don’t let him in the lane & put up a wall… VOGEL DID NOTHING TO DETER a guy who has trouble shooting from the outside!!’

Honestly, it’s LeBron. LeBron was the one bodying him up, knocking the ball out of his hands and causing travels. He obviously has watched a lot of film on Giannis to know his tendencies. Bron also goes directly at him. Refs don’t always call the fouls but Bron attacks him at the rim. Simply because LeBron rises up against other great players. Giannis also knows he’s better than AD. I truly don’t believe he thinks he’s better than LeBron. A player’s mentality and presence is powerful. LeBron’s presence alone would have changed the Bulls game. Derozan is much more timid for example. AD doesn’t strike fear into anyone. Watch the last game Bron played against the Bucks in 2020. Watch how AD only started to son Giannis once Bron already had his turn. They destroyed him together.

It’s really simple. AD doesn’t want it. Notice how his desire to dominate on defense has all gone away once he got robbed of defensive player of the year our championship season. His following season he came into game 1 only showing minimal interest on defense. To him now, there’s no point in going all out. It’s not like he’ll win the award. Why expend so much defensive energy during the season, get hurt and not be available for the postseason? I guarantee you this is AD’s mindset. He’s in his literal prime but would rather coast until the playoffs to avoid injury. That’s okay for old LeBron. He’s put in his time. He was dominating the league at the same age and has remained hungry all these years later.

The dudes always been soft. We are just seeing it full time now. Apparently he didn’t work out legs or core in the off-season because he can still get pushed around by small point guards. No killer instinct. Lazy on D. Entitled, so putting blame on others. The reality is that it’s always been about abs will always be about Lebron. We need to plan ahead when Lebron is gone. Get lucky and have THT turn into the next superstar

AD has no killer instinct

This is his chance to shine w/o LeBron and he can't.

It's weird... AD is not a top 5 player when he is dependent on to carry a team but embidd and jokic might be. However you a superstar wing to any of those bigs and Davis is the better player to have.

He is special in his own ways and carrying a team offensively is not his thing because of the way he gets his points. He is more of a finisher than anything else and depends on others to create for him instead of him creating for others.

But AD brings things the others don't specially on defensive versatility and ability to not slow down his team on transition. He also gives creators an elite roller that allows them to do their thing. We went away from AD Bron pick and roll because it's our go to weapon but don't get it twisted. AD is a beast when he has a good P&R partner which Brook is not.

I still think Anthony is best at forward instead of center. He is better roaming on the perimeter, using his length, rather than camped in the paint, using his body to rebound. He often gets boxed out by smaller players under the basket.

he admittedly says the defense starts with him. What's our defense rating?

Helps a lot when people actually get him the ball in a position to score like they did tonight. AD3 brings it defensively but he is in a mostly reliant position offensively, like all big-men.

Last season he was like this. He would show up one game and then next game he went back on vacation. Not sure if it was because against an inferior opponent with bad players or not. I won't get excited until he does it on a consistent basis and against elite teams. Have these stat lines against Gobert, Ayton and Green. Then I'll be impressed.

Why hasn't he been doing this all season? Did it take an ejection of his bestie in order to unleash his inner beast?
