Despite the close score this was an Impressive win especially considering that Poppvich’s teams have always bought effort when they play the Lakers, I won’t be surprised if we have a more easier time tomorrow.

What a difference when Deandre and Kent Bazemore gets DNP’d
Spurs don't really seem like they have anybody for someone like Deandre to guard. I wish I had a similar excuse for Bazemore
I'll always root for their success especially since they came here for pennies but it just seems Kent trying hard just to stay relevant and DJ is more excited to promote his Vegan Lifestyle rather than playing smash mouth basketball.
Both of them atm seem like they could get shipped out like Troy Daniels mid season

If Westbrook can stop throwing the ball away and throwing up bricks, we could be really good.
He shoot well today: 5/11 FG, 3/5 3FG.
But too much TOs(7), as usual.
That one turnover in crunch time is what everyone is upset with Russ.
Thankfully Lebron or Rondo will be making the decisions during Crunch time. Russ should be used as another scoring weapon/decoy during closing time especially off the doubles Lebron and AD should draw.
It should be easy money for the Brodie driving to the cup. I'm really missing that Russ who would violently tear the rim down.

I have this weird sense that maybe full time PG duties aren't for him. I feel like the Lakers need Nunn back to take over that for him. Not sure what is ailing Nunn but I thought he was a great pickup for the Lakers at the time. Hope he gets to prove me right soon
Maybe Westbrook is a 2 guard. I think Westbrook's rebounding is underrated for a guard. I love him bringing the ball up and going defense to offense. In a slowed down half court set maybe he shouldn't be the initiating guard, though.

With LeBron in the lineup Westbrook isn't a full-time PG. LeBron and Westbrook would share those duties.
I agree with the last two sentences. Westbrook has been doing a good job of pushing the ball consistently, then bringing out when we don't have anything. When LeBron comes back, he can and should give it to LeBron in those situations so we can quickly get into our set offense.
Great to see Ellington stepping up again. He shot a sniper-like 71% from deep (5-7).
As a role player, he did what he's paid to do.
His overall defense was also okay (+12).

Oh I did not get to watch the game at all because I had a job today but it sounds like we handled business. Nothing like a good old fashioned beat down rebound game

Ughhh - how the hell did I miss this game. Damn it.
It started at a weird time. I don't blame anyone for missing it. Billy Mac even alluded to that saying "no this is not a repeat, we are actually live"
Same here - missed this one. Too bad I missed it looking at the outcome.
I agree with some of the recent comments about Westbrook fitting in better being utilized as more of a 2 guard than a 1, with LeBron or Nunn doing more of the initiating. That might cut down on bonehead mistakes, which apparently he committed tonight too. The other piece would be movement on offense so he has a lane to the rim, and him doing the same for others.

Another thing we learned today. The Spurs got back into the game in the fourth quarter when the Lakers deliberately slowed the pace down, milking shot clock. The Lakers are not good at executing in the half-court and that led to a number of shot clock violations. Turnovers. Dead that agenda.
