Who's got one? Thinking about one?
Tell us about it...
I just ordered one from this local Orange County manufacturer:
https://electricbikecompany.com/model-r/
There's a ton of Electric Bike companies out there, most are in China and ship directly to your home, but you have to do some assembly and I have no idea what you'd do if it needs repair or adjustments.
YouTube has tons of electric bike videos...
Just wanted to see if anyone else here is doing the electric bike thing... _________________ “Always remember... Rumors are carried by haters, spread by fools, and accepted by idiots.” |

I have a Specialized Turbo Como 4. Honestly, if I was to go E-bike, I'd just spring for one of the major brands and stick to Bosch/Brose/Yamaha motors. You''ll pay more but the warranty is worth it and the motors are WAY, WAY, WAY more reliable than those Chinese Bafang motors. You're also going to get better components and the frame integration is light years better. If you're just goofing off every so often, I'd probably go the cheap Chinese ebike (which basically every of these off brand sellers are, they just rebadge them) and use it simply as a throw away item that when it breaks. I have a lot of Electric Bike Co. employees come by the restaurant and having talked to them they're all getting their from China too. Radpower, Radbikes. All the same crap.
Ebikes are getting huge. In fact, there was a group of customers from China who happened to work for a manufacturer out there and their American host told me he's working on securing inventory and branding and what not. He's just going to be another one of these companies. In the end, you really get what you pay for. _________________ KOBE |

They are a plague in my area. On the major thoroughfares and in parking lots there is, by default, a group of at least four 6th or 7th grader crotch goblins riding 2 to a bike, no helmet, going the wrong way against traffic, sassing motorists and nearly missing pedestrians. _________________ http://chickhearn.ytmnd.com/

Pedal assist is one (the most common) type of electric bike. An electric bike is any bike with an electric propulsion motor, whether that motor operates via throttle or by pedaling. _________________ “We must always take sides. Yep and there are some that do both.
You guys ever seen those Honda Groms? They're like little mini sportbikes that get up to 50-60 mph. An electric version of those, maybe even smaller that can hit 35-40 would be so awesome.
I'd use my bike more often but the fear of theft is real. These things get jacked left and right. _________________ KOBE |

My wife and I have Pedego bikes. We have both the pedal assist and the throttle.
We bought them years ago and they need some maintenance at the moment but we probably ride bikes a lot more than we normally would. They're lots of fun. _________________ You are under no obligation to remain the same person you were a year ago, a month ago, or even a day ago. Bought my wife a cargo electric assisted bike for her birthday. Real practical thing for us.
It does have some issue with a sensor though, assist doesn't always work and then it is just a heavy box to push |

Which e-bike is the best for off-road riding? Is it really worth selecting an e-bike? |
