5 out 6 Ws, should be 6 straight.

But this was one was made way harder than it needed to be, because we only played defense consistently for about 7 minutes in the late 3rd to 4th Q. Rest of the game it was not a committed effort on D.

Houston shot the ball really well, I will give them some credit. They shot well. They have some nice young players. But we were not sticking to the shooters and perimeter guys like we did late in the game.

I will take the W, but this kind of D will not get it done, longterm.

Lakers had this game won rather easily then the stupid refs took off like 3 points off the score board which kinda threw the team off.

Lalers problem is inside defense, Rockets just hit contested shots. DJ is not enough as starting C. They should get another center.

Yeah that game was harder than it should have been. I'm happy that the Lakers won, but that was not the look of a dominant team.

He doesn’t show on screens and he tries to avoid contact with players driving to the basket. Lay someone out stop letting players think you’re BBQ chicken

If we don't learn to curb stomp these wack teams. No business having this game be this tight. Anyway a win is a win. Way to win Lakers.

Did you just start watching the Lakers? I can think as far back to the Kobe Shaq Lakers where teams like the lottery clippers was playing well against us.

Offensively the Lakers did what they had to do to win the game but the defense was once again sloppy. We have to improve there because giving up 117 points a night won't win you many games.

I 100% agree with you Car54, the Bobcats were our achillies heel during the Pau/Kobe years, lots of good teams through out the NBA have a hard time beating mediocre teams.. which tells us how it’s hard to play in the NBA so I agree that nothing should be given to anyone just because you are a contender.

Lebron shouldn’t be playing the 4th against these garbage teams, but unfortunately he had to save the team again.

Also, Wood abused AD on a few possessions which is kind of yikes.

AD vs Wood matchup was nice to see.. Wood is no pushover. So can't blame AD

Wood is a good player, I just saw AD get physically beat on a few plays that he shouldn’t have imo.

Wood DeAndre Jordan’d him a couple of times under the basket. It’s not the end of the world just something to monitor.

Ehh, I'll wait to see if the 'close game against average team' thing keeps up after 1/4 of the season

The Lakers out rebounded the Rox this time around 43-38 and outscored them in the paint 78-60. The Lakers also held a 23-8 fastbreak advantage.
With those numbers one would think the Lakers should have won big but the defense has not been up to par most nights. This team is a work in progress.

NEXT GAME:

Los Angeles Lakers vs Oklahoma City Thunder
Staples Center, Los Angeles, CA | Thursday, Nov. 04, 2021 • 7:30 PM PT
