I paid to see it. I was skeptical going in, and have been proven wrong many times...maybe again? Nope. F$&*# trash. _________________ http://chickhearn.ytmnd.com/

I had never seen the David Lynch 1984 film or read the novel before seeing this version.
I really liked it.
Just learned that Dune was a major inspiration for George Lucas making Star Wars and I can definitely see it now (the Force, Jedi, sand planets).
Can't believe they didn't greenlight part two until now. Should've done it in the first place so they could shoot them back-to-back. Now have to wait 2 years for part two.
Edit: Just finished the David Lynch version. That was...interesting
I don't think I'd have understood half of what was happening had I not seen the Denis Villeneuve version first. So much narrative exposition and it was still confusing as hell. Lol it is Lynch after all. But really goes to show how difficult this is to fit into one movie.
Sadly this. Everything looked really flat and lifeless. But it's just one trailer.
Regardless of what you thought of the film, Deakins' cinematography pops immediately and the distinct locations give the world a 'bigness' before you even get to the theater:
The desert never has to look drab:
Even when set in a dystopian future:
ETA: I completely botched up and forgot to post images of Tatooine.
Well, I was both right and wrong. It was just one trailer. Good looking movie. _________________ Under New Management
