USC football hit bottom yet?

Why watch USC (or UCLA) when you can watch the Rams? At this point even the Chargers seem like a better option.

College football and the NFL are very different games....very different types of entertainment. Even during their bad seasons, the Rams play a superior level of football than USC.....but the Rams can never offer the tradition and pageantry of a USC game.

I know I am not going out of a limb.....but I think the 4 playoff teams will come from the Top 5 (maybe 6) currently in the AP Poll.

1 Georgia
2 Cincinnati
3 Oklahoma
4 Alabama
5 Ohio State
6 Michigan

I also think the Top 3 are very likely to get in.
- I think Oklahoma (with Williams) will roll to an undefeated season which will make them a lock.
- I think Georgia is likely in even with a loss to Alabama in the SEC Championship game....but do not see any other losses.
- Cincinnati is mentally locked in and not going to stumble. The committee will have no choice but to include them....and I think they deserve it.
- Alabama will need to go undefeated the rest of the way and beat UGA in the SEC Championship game.
- Ohio State will need one of the 4 previous things mentioned to not happen, and win out....same for Michigan (but I do not think Michigan is on the same level as the other programs). I think the most likely path for Ohio State is to win out, and for UGA to beat 'Bama in the SEC Championship game.

I like Cincy, but still would have doubts they could win 2 games for a National Championship.....but the other 3 would be a coin toss in my mind. As good as Georgia has been, would not be surprised if Oklahoma and Ohio State are the two best teams in the country by the end of the season.

Ton of football left to be played. My Buckeyes have tough games against 6,7, 10 and possibly #11 if they make the championship game.

Shouldn't be allowed to have fans in attendance for their next home.

If UCLA wants to play in a relevant Bowl game they definitely need to beat Oregon.

Lost DTR and the kid QB had to come in for the final few plays, and an INT sealed the win for Oregon late.

I haven't watched much college ball this year, as I'm definitely more of an NFL guy, but Caleb Williams made one of the greatest plays I've ever seen for Oklahoma late in their surprisingly close win against Kansas. Nursing a 28-23 lead with about 4 minutes left, OU faced a 4th and 1 from the Kansas 40 or so. The RB looked like he was stuffed and was clearly not going to make the first down. Williams was standing in front of him and, as the RB was being driven backward, he took the ball from the RB and squiggled forward for the first down. I've never seen anything like that before. It has to be seen to be believed...

UCLA isn't even ranked so they aren't that close. They beat an LSU team which turned out to be having another down year, lost to Fresno State which they had no business losing to and lost today to Oregon. 5-3 and probably out of contention for the Rose Bowl.

Such a crazy fun watch. I'm glad it resulted in an upset.

On another note, really happy that my wife's childhood team, NIU, is doing so well this season.

I haven’t been paying attention to them, looks like it could be an undefeated season. My alma mater, EIU, not so much (1-7).

I personally do not think any of those games will tough for Ohio State. I get why Michigan and Michigan State are ranked high, but I do not think they are Top 10 level teams.....more a product of light front end schedule. Penn State clearly is no threat to Ohio State. This Ohio State team....in Week 9 would beat Oregon by 3 touchdowns.

After this past week, I have some more questions about Oklahoma than I did last week.....and Cincy still has to get by a really solid SMU team.

He's the reason why the Rams went with somebody like Sean McVay. Under Jeff Fisher the Rams offense was stale. The fact that Jeff Fisher is even mentioned probably indicates that USC head coaching job is probably not a desirable one after years of being mired in mediocrity. Look at how many socal prospects leave the state for other programs because of the downfall of the USC program.
