As an aside. The more sensitive, or cautious society becomes, the more the divide grows.

I’m sure I’m in the minority here but I can speak for my wife too. When trump said “grab em by the …” that was the least offensive thing he did. The outrage wasn’t really about that. The outrage was that that guy could actually be president. Trump was just trying to be funny, macho to billy bush. Yes he’s accused of rape and it’s probably true but in that moment it wasn’t that.

Entertainment is an escape. Ted Lasso makes me feel a certain way as does something that pushes the boundaries. We should encourage those extremes even if someone by society’s standards happens to cross the line.

I should clarify, I meant more sensitive towards one another, e.g. thinking how something can affect/be perceived by others rather than just yourself.
Sure I can probably get some laughs by insulting someone but how is that making them feel? My saying "it's just a joke" doesn't take away the fact that it's at their expense. It's shedding accountability and I think that's what a lot of these guys don't understand.

I think Ted Lasso is a perfect example. It recently touched on the difference between guy friends busting each others balls and a guy taking it too far (Nate and Colin). Even the first season redemption of Rebecca was brilliant. She did something bad, she admitted to it, apologized, and Ted was compassionate enough to realize we all make mistakes and that you shouldn't hold one bad thing against someone, especially when they own it and learn from it.

My Ted lasso reference was in regards to art. It makes you feel a certain way, where (insert funny but insensitive comic) makes you feel another. One isn’t necessarily better but in today’s climate one is forced to pull back or be ridiculed, chastised, cancelled. Art is not suppose to always be comfortable, nice etc.

Back to Steve carell saying the office couldn’t be made today is not a good look for where we are.

Not to make this political but look at trumptards. They loved how blunt he was yet they are the biggest snowflakes.

Dems walk on eggshells.

Entertainment is about escapism . Stifling that in anyway is not good.

Caring about each other is fine. Caring too much can be a problem.

I don’t think it’s solely about escapism. Sure some stuff is. But it also should make you think.
If The Office were aired today and people were outraged they would essentially be telling on themselves for not being able to think—ironically they’d be reacting as Michael Scott would react, completely missing the actual point.

Just finished it.

It was about two episodes too long and maybe one twist too many.

But entertaining stuff.

I'm 4 episodes in on The Morning Show, Jennifer Aniston, and Reese Witherspoon. As usual, I'm on the late freight. So far I like the series. I'll be binging this evening.

Why is episode 7 & 8 the same on Ted Lasso?

Are there going to be more than 4 episodes of Only Murder In The Building?

It was good. Odd placement in the series with final episode next but good. Every main character has been developed

That's perfect. At first, I thought he was Brett Goldstein in prosthetics.

Yeah, but the show has pretty much broken convention the whole series, I mean a Christmas episode in August?

There will be 10 episodes of Only Murder In The Building is Season 1.

I like The Morning Show.....love Reese Witherspoon. For the first time ever....I noticed the beautiful Jennifer Aniston is showing her age a little in the 1st episode of Season 2.

Yeah, one of many great moments, like Roid Kent riding off on the little Razor.

She looks damn good for a 52 year old.

I was dying laughing at that.

The end of the episode with the Benny Hill theme was great too. Perfect way to end that roller coaster ride.

Maybe, but they don't have the best show, which is undoubtedly Ted Lasso.

It just keeps upping the ante with bold moves, I mean spending a whole episode essentially doing an homage to Scorsese's After Hours?
