According to Vegas this series is now deadlocked 50/50 odds. That’s taking into account AD availability and even him not playing they give us a 50% chance to advance. I’ll take a 50/50 shot over no chance.

Must win game for both teams.

We're going to need LBJ to be in attack mode. DS needs to be in attack mode. And Dre is going to need to be more consistent offensively - I think they will try "feature" him a tad as the third option, more so than usual since LBJ came back.

I have a sneaky feeling Lakers will get to the FT quite a bit. Suns paint packing has led to the refs holding whistles on things they do when the Lakers drive. I get a sense this next crew will be a bit more whistle happy with defensive paint activity by the Suns.

As wacky as it sounds...my gut says the Lakers will win this next game. And yep, Ike's sandwiches are out the window, just going with my gut feel.

Caveat: If they go shooting 40 3s again, its an L, unless they are hitting them close to 40% or higher.

Vogel won’t do it but I would wanna start

AC
Kcp
Bron
Keef
Gasol

Then let Schroeder get loose with Kuzma Mathews and Drummond/Harrell in the second unit.

I honestly dont have an issue with the starting lineup proposal, but Drummond / Harrell on the floor at same time with second unit is probably asking for some serious spacing issues - we'd see a whole new level of "paint packing."

I also think DS and LBJ showed they can be impactful as the 1-2 duo for a stretch earlier in the year. I would just make sure they do what they did then, which was have them start, then stagger their minutes through 2nd and 3rd, and then have them close out together in the 4th - to ensure at least 1 of them on floor at all times.

Aah I meant that as Drummond or Harrell my bad.

But yeah I agree with your points.

You think THT gets some burn?

THT will definitely get a shot in the next game. Vogel knows he needs a spark off the bench with a likely limited offensive output. THT is the exact roll of the dice you go to when you are running out of time/moves. THT, Caruso, and kuzma have all performed at summer league caliber this entire playoffs and one of them needs to breakout or we will lose.

Possibly with the second unit if Vog elects to have LBJ and DS on the bench. But at best with a quick hook - its a critical game. One blown assignment, and he's out. Game is way too critical.

But if I were betting on it? No.

Trying to peer into Vog's mind based on past habits, I can see him saying "we have beaten this team with size, let's keep that up", and if no AD "ok, fine, but if Dre happens to be on he can be an issue for the Suns with his size, rebounding, etc." so "featuring" Dre as one of the scoring options (which we all know is a risky road, as he is just as likely to make a nice drop step move and get a dunk as he is to fumble a lob out of bounds).

Let's be realistic here, even if they somehow get past the Suns, they are not winning this Western Conference. They definitely won't be beating Brooklyn or Milwaukee if they somehow make it to the finals.

Lakers should have never let Avery Bradley walk. Would have been a nice perimeter defender in this series.

Our defense is fine. We gave up 100 points...46 in the second half without AD.

That was without KCP too. We literally just can’t hit shots.

All they can do is absorb these tough blows due to the injuries and emotional setbacks. They are veteran team with Championship aspirations.

We are past the time we should be talking about motivation to play hard or rotations. It's Game 5 of the playoffs. This team either has the will to compete or it doesn't.

This is simple. Come ready to play. I will be rooting for them to prove it.

We have a LeBron. If LeThanos shows up, he will crush the PHX bums.

They want to play CP3? Okay, take his tiny ass to the low block with LeBron and punish him on every possession from the start of the game.

We were doing fine until KCP was out in game 4. Couldn’t anticipate that.

In game 3 the Lakers looked unbeatable. Let’s not count them out yet. I agree though that it will be very challenging if AD doesn’t come back close to full strength.

Make your open jumpers. It's as simple as that. Lebron is gonna bring it but he can't do much playing 5-on-1. Go Lakers!

Lakers star Anthony Davis is unlikely to play in Game 5 vs. Suns on Tuesday due to strained groin, sources tell @TheAthletic @Stadium. There’s optimism about Davis‘ status as series continues and as he is evaluated day-to-day.
