Marc Gasol that is, is rumored to be on the trade block, with two years of salary left at approx. $24mil for next season, but he makes virtually the exact same as Lopez for this season.

WHY the Lakers do it: They get a better center, a real center, who is average about 6 more points and 4+ more rebounds than Lopez. Yeah, that cuts the max. money to one star next year, but Lakers were probably only get one anyway and having Gasol will show PG and Lebron we are serious.

WHY the Griz do it: they get an expiring contract and a decent center to boot.

Do it Magic...!

Don't see why the Griz would trade Gasol for an expiring contract. It's not like they're going to be a free agent destination. They are going to be looking for draft picks or young players for him.

I don't see us being a player in the Gasol sweepstakes.

activeverb nailed it. Grizzlies looking for draft picks and young players since they are not a free agent destination.

Marc's brother Pau Gasol was devastated in the loss to the Lakers tonight. I think Marc must hate the Lakers for trading him.
