BS. Why would he go to the west and have to go through SA, GS, Houston, etc? Not happening. Lakers are always mentioned as leverage.

Well he brought a chip there. I totally could see him leaving now. But off course why would he come to the Lakers. That I don't get.

His kids enroll a school in LA

His post-dream job of being a actor and a entertainer will be here in LA

Lebron wants to play for championships.

By the time he is a FA we might be one star away from competing in the West.

$27 M. per to the big 3, if someone needs to take slightly less LeBron would happily do so much $$ coming from other places.....

Is this doable salary wise?

Not without paycuts.

LeBron's going to be worth ~$40M in 2018, not $27M. George around ~$33M. etc.

Where you getting 40 mil? You'd need a 114 mil cap for that. And 110 to make George 33.

I wouldn't be scared of the Rockets.

Just sayin' they would have to go through a lot tougher teams. Even the Jazz are better than most teams in the east.

Yup, many reasons. Plus he loves warm weather cities like LA and Miami. Lebron isn't a dumb guy, he sees that this team has young up and coming talent (or trade chips) and a guy like PG13 coming as well possibly. However, getting rid of Deng and Moz would definitely be needed to bring LBJ over and that would require giving up assets. It's a pipe dream but you never know.

Exactly.

Dude probably wants to become a actor and even though he can still do it with the Cavs or some place else, the Lakers and its popularity will bring him to new heights as far as endorsements and jersey sells.

He's coming to the lakers because he wants to become an actor ? Are you serious with this stuff 2.0 ?

Nevermind, you are.

He does have a production company and they already have a show, The Wall, on in prime time.

I might be running old numbers from when the cap was expected to rise to about $110M. Anyways LeBron's at 35% and George/Cousins are at 30% right? So the three of them combined are 95% of the cap. It's impossible to sign all three barring some steep paycuts.

Russell/Ingram/Zubac/Nance themselves are worth about $16M. Add in the #2 pick and we're at $21M or so (?). And this is under the assumption that we can trade Randle, Mozgov, Deng, and Clarkson without getting any salary back.

LeBron is not a free agent until 2019. Imagine by that time our young guys have improved dramatically and we've also picked up Paul George. A team of Ball, Russell, Ingram, George, and Zubac could be doing some serious damage. LeBron takes a salary cut to join and all of a sudden we are competing for championships. Even more so if he brings a buddy with him.

Seems like he'd likely want to leave on good terms with the Cavs, thus would want to force a trade to the Lakers, so as to leave them with young assets. So, Josh Jackson will be wearing a Cavs jersey next season, along with Mosgov and Randel.

I highly doubt he leaves cle, especially to come to the same division as his main obstacle to a ring.

We have about a week until the draft......lets just say this is even remotely true. Why gut our whole youth movement for a few years of bron giving us a chance to get past golden state? Then what? We are back to square one while Dlo, Julius, BI, and whoever we draft then trade go on to beast it for the cavs who still might make it out of the weak east with our youth in a few years.

Well, I've said this before and I'll say it again...

For what it's worth, LeBron James has a home in LA! I think it's in Brentwood.

It's funny how his camp is likely floating this to hold his GM hostage for a 3rd time. First it was Jamison rather than Amare or Bosh, then McRoberts and Napier was the best Miami could do. Cleveland is surely willing to pay the extreme repeater tax, but this is LBJs way of making sure they milk every last resource out to get a creative upgrade and buy one more year of his time.

The guy is a total wild card, I feel like most of us are just numb to the idea like yea he can help win but who knows what he will want to do. Does he dare leave "the land"? Since hes in denial that his legacy in the public eye isn't his main thought, does he take a paycut to put another super team together? Does he get that following Kobe (ex:post work guidance from Hakeem) will help more than any one player upgrade will?

The Lakers offer him a chance at history. If he comes to ,la and wins 2 titles pushing us past the leprechauns for most chips, he catapults right back into that goat conversation. He would do what magic and kobe weren't able to do, and he would do it on their team. Only reason i see any of this happening. Its all about that legacy.

I'm thinking it will be the clippers. CP3 factor and I think Ballmer will do anything to ensure that Lebron is not a laker.
