I picked other. I love quartz. No sealer or maintenance needed and its stronger than granite. I personally think granite looks dated while quartz offers a cleaner look.
I'm assuming this is for countertops? |

Countertops/flooring/shower/wall
Personally when I see granite or square tiles I think early 90s, yecch. Quartz to me just looks like less impressive granite. _________________ http://chickhearn.ytmnd.com/

Huh? Quartz looks nothing like granite.
For countertops, I like quartz.
For flooring/shower/wall, I like porcelain tile. Maybe some glass tile as a backsplash or accent. Always offset layout. |

Bathrooms?
Subway tiles and one inch square tiles for accent colors on the walls.
Smaller tiles for the floor
Nice clean solids like quartz for counter tops.
Granite and marble? No thanks. Too pourous. The moisture is ultimately going to become an issue. |

For bathrooms ... slate, stone (e.g., flagstone ... or sandstone if you want to need to keep it brighter), glass and complex tilework ... all day, every day.
For kitchens, granite and more complex tilework ...
Handscraped, distressed hardwood floors, boatloads of glass and slate everywhere else ... |

I agree. Quartz is way easier to maintain than granite. |

I did the flooring in the "lounge" section of my shop in faux dark wood porcelain tile (long plank tiles). Looks soooo sexual. My friend recently did part of his bathroom in the faux wood tile and part with the stone looking tile. Looks pretty damn sharp. It was great though, dude was showing me how awesome his new bathroom looks and didn't realize he left his penis enlarging pump right there in his new tub. LOLing my ass off at the look on his face once he slid the glass door to the shower open and realized he left it there was one of the most glorious moments of my life. _________________ "The best there is. I'm remodeling my shower and floors, right now, in a very similar fashion. White subway tiles and a mosaic accent strips running near the top and bottom of the shower and bath tub.
But, I'm going with a walnut colored wood tile for flooring. |

Good cutting, alignment, and even grouting on that random gigantic tile shower swastika. Is that what you would call "master-tiling"? _________________ GOAT MAGIC REEL

I prefer yellow tile. That way no one notices when I miss the toilet. |

As a practical reminder, some stones are more porous than others but all should be sealed on a periodic basis, perhaps every other year or so. This prevents staining, preserve sanitation and perhaps prevent some acidic chemical (think vinegar or the like on marble) from eating away at the stone surface.
Granite is nice but tricky. Some types have really nice sheen due to the heavy deposits presence of mica, but be ever mindful that these surfaces may cleave. |

Works great in Cape Cod or Modern, just very expensive.
Good taste my friend. |

Shower walls - subway tile
Countertops - quartz (caesarstone)
Flooring - tile or wood
Say no to granite. I have granite in my kitchen and both bathrooms and hate it. So porous |
