Today, I just bought the new Bob Marley "Live Forever" , Matisyahu - Live at Stubb's Vol. II, and John Legend and the Roots - Live at Soho albums and it got me thinking, What is the best live album I've ever heard...

Couldn't just pick one...
so here's a few of mine:

Nirvana - MTV Unplugged in New York
Matisyahu - Live at Stubb's
Jack Johnson - En Concert
Bob Dylan - Bootleg Series, Vol. 4: Live 1966
Portishead - PNYC: Roseland Live
Sade - Lovers Live

Whats yours?

I enjoy Pulse a lot. Reminds me in a bittersweet way of the last Floyd tour.

sorry for the spelling but alanis morrisette's unplugged is a fantastic live album that i haven't seen mentioned here.

leonard cohen's live double cd from a couple of years ago is one of my favorites too.

and there's an old live cd from like 40 years or so ago of bill withers in concert that really captures the live experience and the audience participation like very few have before imo - even though it's not necessarily one of the greatest music cd's of all time.
but a very very cool performance and vibe.

No order here (and not at the exclusion of some great ones mentioned already):

Led Zeppelin "How the West was Won"
Jimi Hendrix "Jimi Plays Monterey"
The Band "The Last Waltz".
Gov't Mule "The Deepest End"
The Quintet "Jazz at Massey Hall"
The Who "Live at Leeds"
Cheap Trick "Live at the Budokan"
Miles Davis "Live at the Plugged Nickle"
The Clash "Live: From Here to Eternity"
Neil Young & Crazy Horse "Live Rust"
The Allman Brothers Band "Live at Fillmore East"
The Band of Gypsys "The Band of Gypsys "

Led Zeppelin "The Song Remains the Same" is a must on any list. It isn't the best, but it is one of the quintessential live albums of all time.

Good choice.

I saw her at the Hollywood Bowl a couple of years ago. She was amazing. She's an engaging and talented woman.

Definitely a great one, but when you go into multiple act albums, it becomes a different discussion.
