^Between HISD, Kay (The Foudation), The ARE, and others, there's a lot of noise coming out of Houston. Like ?eustlove said, expect big things from Houston in 2009.

I was a Huge Quest fan back in the day although I was one of the few who thought Pfife was a better rapper than 'Tip. Is the new CD in the same style as low end theory and the like?

Off the top of my head here's my list:

Death Magnetic - Metallica (Greatest metal band of all time!)
Angel Down - Sebastian Bach (still has great vocal range)
The Dream - In This Moment (melodies with metalcore = cool sound!)
One Of The Boys - Katy Perry (yeah, I know, but it's a catchy pop album with a little 80's sound)
The Formation Of Damnation - Testament (saw them live this summer; excellent album!)
Ultra Beatdown - Dragonforce (more speed metal for the Guitar Hero set)
Black Ice - AC/DC (signature AC/DC sound)
Perpetual Flame - Yngwie Malmsteen (vocals by Ripper Owens with Yngwie's signature guitar makes a great combination)
Raw Footage - Ice Cube - (excellent video for "Gangsta Rap Made Me Do It")

The people on this forum don't approve of Lil Wayne, plus Tha Carter III was a bit overrated, Tha Carter II was better imo.

And huge album sales doesn't make an album "good".

and The Carter 1 was even better than The Carter 2.

By far my favorite is a band called VESPERO and their release FOAM.

They are out of Russia, but their CD is actually released here in the USA, a label out of New York as I recall.

Anyway here is a review:

and they have samples up on MySpace:

Oh and here they are on YouTube:
