I wanted to invite you back for a face to face interview for the Web Content Internship.

Please let me know when you are available on Monday, 8/24 from 12pm to 530pm or Tuesday 8/25 from 10am to 530pm. Once I hear from you, I’ll confirm back an exact time.

The interview will be at our offices in El Segundo. The address is [DELETED]

As to directions, get on 105 West, the 1st exit west of 405 is Nash. Go straight off the exit ramp on to Nash. Turn right on Grand (after Mariposa before El Segundo Blvd) and make a right into the first driveway and park. The address is [DELETED]. Our offices are in the southeast corner of the bottom floor. Just tell the receptionist that you’re here to see me.

[DELETED]

If you’re coming instead on Sepulveda, just take Sepulveda and turn east on Grand, the last driveway before Nash (after Continental) on the left is our building.

Also, we are asking face-to-face interviewees to do a small project. Please take a look at our news page http://www.nba.com/lakers/news/

Our basic structure is the biggest latest story, then 3 stories of long term value and then a list of stories by month. The right column has our widgets and then some other links to content sections. Please re-design the page to organize the content. We are looking to get a demonstration of some coding skills. Please design a button and a header for the page as well so we can see some graphic design skills. Coding language is up to you. By all means, if you have questions, please ask. Please bring it with you or email it to me prior to the interview so we can discuss it then.

Thanks

Nick Kioski

1) Make sure you pay attention to everything that is being said.
2) Make sure you have the skills to do the job.
3) Dress like a pro, and not like a gangster, or a cool dude from the streets. You might want to find out how they dress but first impression is important. I would wear a blazer, black pants, white shirt, nice tie, and shiny black shoes. Get a haircut so you look sharp. If you have any tattoos, make sure they don't see them.
4) Especially find out what they are looking for, and find the exact opportunity to express to them how you are qualified. Tell them how you intend to provide a solution to their need.
5) Be confident, positive, and make sure you find the perfect opportunity to let them know why they should choose you.
6) Communicate clearly but don't be shy to talk technical when you find that opportunity.
7) Just be yourself.
8) Be at least 15 minutes early.
9) If you don't have it yet, ask for the requirements and make sure you have a solid answer for all the specific requirements. Let them know that you are not only capable, you will excel.
10) At the end of the interview, thank the last interviewer and ask what the next step will be and that you're very interested in moving forward.

Can you not just link the LG Lounge page or each game day thread on the site for real time updates after Laker games?

In all seriousness, good luck dude!

If you get the gig you may be privy to inside information. If you want to keep the gig keep it to yourself.

My tip. Go in with a smile and bright mind. Look good, feel good, act good and have a great attitude. Listen to the person on the other end and explain yourself well. Have fun and good luck.

Mention the fact that you're a Laker fan, so you go to Lakers.com each day and know what it's like to be frustrated when the site's not updated. You've seen what works and what doesn't work from a fan's perspective, so that will be able to help you

Hope it goes well for you.

By the way, I don't think you needed to delete the Lakers office address since it is a commonly known matter of public record (and you essentially provided driving direction right to it).

It's an internet job. Just come in with a tshirt and shorts. They'll immedietely know you're dressed for the job. Save the suit and tie for telemarketers.

I'm sorry but I had an internet job in Santa Monica and we did wear shorts but I hope you're kidding that he should wear this during the interview. Once he gets the job and they tell him he can wear shorts, then can he wear shorts. Again, I hope you are kidding.
