I'm planning on driving up to the Luke/Jordan one, but I'm coming from San Diego. How early should I leave to be able to buy the DVD beforehand there at WalMart, and get a good spot in line?

I'm picking this up for sure to add to my Laker championship DVD collection. By the way, I assume you guys all have the Laker Dynasty Series box set. That thing rocks.

I was going to try calling the WalMart to see what time I should get there. I'm only going to work for half the day to get this signed.

It might be at a Best Buy. I've seen the Celtics dvd (and Blu-Ray ) at LA Best Buys. I would think a DC Best Buy would have the Lakers DVD.

You could always buy it online, couldn't you?

There's a link to the NBA store right here on LG.

I think they will release it on Bluray!
http://www.amazon.com/Los-Angeles-Lakers-2009-Champions/dp/B00268DMHC/ref=sr_1_7?ie=UTF8&s=dvd&qid=1247505652&sr=1-7

Well the Celtics DVD release was July 15,2008 and the Bluray was released on Nov 4,2008

Lakers in HD!

Come on Jordan and Luke, you're better than that. Don't promote Wal Mart....

What?!

I'd have to miss all of work then. I can't tell my boss that I now have to miss the whole day

Maybe, they're just saying that hoping that we get there early and buy stuff while we're waiting.

I'm going to the screening at Club Nokia tonight at 7. Lamar, Fisher, Jordan, and Walton will be there. Was wondering what they'll sign.

The lady I talked to said to get there early just because the event has been so well publicized. I think I'm going to try to get there then so I can buy the DVD and get a good spot in line.

Just got back from the screening and I must say two things.

First, Lamar Odom was a no-show. Although it was said he was going to be one of four Lakers present at the screening, he was not. Only Fisher, Farmar, and Walton showed up. They each talked for a bit on stage before they finally showed the championship dvd. No one mentioned LO, that he wasn't there, why he wasn't there or anything. I don't want to make too much of it, but he simply was not there for some reason.

Second, the dvd is awesome. I must say that it really gives you the feel of what the Lakers endured to become champs. It starts off with a recap of Game 6 from the 2008 Championship. The crowd initially booed but it quickly just took in the rest of the clip. As though the pain slipped into everyone once again. From there it went on to some preseason clips, and the following highlights: The first game of the season, the Boston home game, Cavs home, Bynum injury, Boston away, and finally Cavs away game. After that there was a nice recap of each series. There were a lot of behind the scene clips, giving a side of the championship run that we did not get to see until now.

Overall I must say I'm quite pleased with this DVD. The editing, music gives it a very nice feel and really involves the audience.
