Jazz & Blues - and by jazz I am not talking about 'smooth jazz'.

88.1 is a good station for anyone interested in hearing some good jazz, and I know they have certain segments for blues as well.

Also, if you want to hear something other than the typical stuff on KIIS, Star, Power, et al:

89.9 has some pretty eclectic stuff in the nights, and even 103.1 will play some pretty obscure stuff - at least they're making an attempt to play something you haven't been bombarded with on the typical stations.

If you never want to hear the Kelly Clarksons, the 50 Cents and any of the other overplayed, common 'artists' again, there's stuff available out there.

Modern (Bloc Party, The Bravery), Classic (Pink Floyd, Led Zep, Bob Dylan), and Punk (Rise Against, Social D, The Terribles) rock, and Rap (Atmosphere, Jay-Z, 2pac, ATCQ, NaS, Little Brother).

I love music.

I like a lot of music. I'm enjoying the re-emergence of the 80's synth/guitar stuff that's happening right now, although I think some bands are treating it almost as a parody. (I can't really stomach Franz Ferdinand.) A couple of recent songs that I love are "Middle of Nowhere" by Hot Hot Heat, and "Honest Mistake" by The Bravery.

My 3 favorite all-time bands/artists in no particular order are Elvis Presley, U2, and Duran Duran.

I recently started becoming more interested in Johnny Cash also. He has some sweet music that I never bothered listening to before now.

Since I know we have rap/hip hop fans here, I'll go with Soul/R&B. From Marvin Gaye, Al Green, Barry White to today's guys. A lot of today's guys need to to stay more soul than Hip hop.

I listen to all of the above depending on my mood.

But I voted rock since that what I seem to listen to most.

Hip-Hop mostly. But I like other kinds of music. Here's a quick little breakdown...

Hip-hop
Tribe Called Quest
Common
Mos Def
Talib
Big L (props for all those that mentioned him. Found a new artist to add to my mix)
The Roots
Biggie
Tupac
Wu Tang
...list goes on

Some r&b stuff--old school and new (for the ladies)
John Legend
Musiq
Raphael Saddiq
Maxwell
Jodeci
New Edition
Brian McKnight
list goes on...basically whatever the girl is feeling, so am I

A little bit of 80's stuff
Depeche Mode
The Cure
Tears for Fears
list goes on...

Not to sure how to label this--alternative? rock? dunno, but I do know what I like
Coldplay
The Killers
Greenday

I'm sure there are artist who I missed. But basically I just love music in general. I'm mostly into hip-hop, but if its got a good beat and I can relate, then its cool.

Hip-Hop and R&B should be same category because there are artists who do both ala 50 cent, and Jay-z to name a few.

I voted Hip-hop but I like R&B equally.

There's way more than Jay-Z & 50 in Hip-Hop (50's actually a rapper if we're going to divide it even further), so that is an incorrect assumption, listen to some People Under The Stairs, Little Brother, or Ugly Duckling for example, not even close to R&B.

My favorite type would be a rock-pop hybrid. I like both rock and pop, though the ones who can do both at the same time are my favorite.

Rock for me, If I listen to radio it's KROQ but if it's a CD it is mainly Led Zeppelin, although I can't get my hands on "Living Loving Maid" your help would be appreciated. Also I love alternative like Tool and A perfect Circle. Mainly it's it the guitar that I love I can't pass up on a good solo. Jimmy Page rocks!
