We know Road is where stars step up as role players cant hit the same shots. No one is expecting Ariza/Shannon to hit 11/13 from 3s. Last year we lost 2 close games in Utah that I think can be avoided this yr.
Player Min, FG, +/-
Game3:
Farmar 16min, 0/6, -13
Luke 23min, 3/6, 0
Sasha 10min, 0/3, -10
Game 4:
Farmar 19min, 0/2, -19
Luke 25min, 2/6, +8
Sasha 26min, 4/6, +3
Bottom line: as if it hasnt been obvious to Phil before--> shorten the bench min. Rotation should be Lamar,Shannon, maybe little Luke. Sasha can get 3-4 min if he doesnt foul or rush shots. _________________ Alltime lineup: Magic | Kobe | MJ | Hakeem | KAJ |

I totally agree. I think that Lamar, Shannon, and either Luke or Sasha should be the three getting the minutes off the bench.(Depends on if Sasha's shot is on or not) I wish there was a way that we could get some more minutes for Josh tho. He is always so solid when he is out on the floor. |

This one is gonna be tough in my eyes. They will win this game if they come in with a determined mindset to not let the crowd get to them. _________________ "We are the goodest." - Shaq ESPN interview |

Withstand their initial run to start the game then take their crowd out by these 3 factors:
1. Gang rebound - everyone should be on the boards both on offense and defense. Jazz can't run their fast break if they don't have the ball
2. Limit bench play to these players: LO, Ariza, Brown, Luke. 9 deep - no Farmar. No Sasha until they get their heads out of their arses.
3. Maintain your composure. This will be a foul fest with the potential for technicals, ejections, and maybe even some pushing/shoving. In other words, it will be real chippy out there. Sloan challenged their manhood by calling them out. I expect them cowards to respond at home.
Lakers will get it done though. Book it. |

We tend to win tough games in hostile arenas by having that one golden quarter where we outscore the other team by 10-15 and milk the lead (our last 2 wins at Utah have taken that path, at any rate). If we have a very good 1st quarter, they're in trouble. The longer we keep it nip/tuck, the more creative the refs will be.
A shortened rotation, especially at 1, 3, 4 would be dandy.

Ooooh man I can't wait. 14 hours to go and we'll see what this team is made of. They've been in their comfort zones so far but still winning strong, a win in their first road game of the playoffs will show us if they're ready or not and make a big statement. Get them on the ropes where we want them...

This is going to be the toughest game of the series. Time for the Lakers to step it up another level and play 48 minutes of good defense. Go Lakers!!! _________________ Repeat Champs Baby!!! |

Utah is going to try and pull out all the stops - wouldn't be surprised to see Deron and Boozer go the full distance.
Combine that with the raucous crowd, and Utah's 72-12 record at home over the past two seasons - going to be damn tough.
We have to get off to a good start. Cant let their fans get into it from the get-go. |

The evidence is incontrovertible, existing in game tapes, understood by knowing the "rules", and observing radical inconsistencies of how they're APPLIED to each respective team in given situations and locations.
Most people are designed to recognize patterns, I suppose some don't. The complaints about officiating are well substantiated due to patterns being recognized.
The bottom line is it's impossible to play "D" if they don't let you, and it's very hard to score if they "LET" the other team play all the D they want, even though much of it clearly violates the rules.
If you can't see that then it's probably because you don't want to acknowledge it. Maybe you think we should be able to overcome those odds? Well, it all depends on how hot we are vs. how bad the officiating is I guess. We'll just have to wait and see. |

I'm so happy I'm not in class tonight to watch the game, first game I get to enjoy watching in the comfort of my own home.
Gonna be a tough game, and I do mean TOUGH....I had Lakers in 5, so I think this is the game we lose. But I'm hoping my boys prove me wrong and just sweep 'em. |

I hope you(stillmatic) can be rewarded with a victory tonight. I think if we don't win tonight we'll be less likely to win the next roadie. |
