Honestly, I think fans were a little bored with the regular season because it was all about the playoffs this year. Now that playoffs are here its like the real season has begun...

Last year it seemed loud, and the "loudness" decreased after each round (i guess when the ticket prices went up), all the way until the boston series when you could hear a pin drop.

It doesn't. There's also no acoustics being played like there is in Phillips Arena in Atlanta

It was designed to kill sound, so it could be used for concerts.

other arenas, like the rose garden are designed to amplify sound and redirect it onto the court.

That's why Game 7 2000 WCF against the Blazers was incredible. That's the loudest crowd I've ever heard.

I think that they are definitely louder than in past seasons, even in playoffs. I can definitely notice a difference. They even sustained that loud chants for a bit. Now if they can do it for a whole game

yea. that's b/c real hardcore fans like us can't really afford finals tickets. i hated those staple center "fans" last yr in the finals....they barely cheered or supported the lakers in that game 4 when we blew the 800 pt lead

they werent great last night, but it definitely is getting better...just a few more things we needa get down:

1. WEAR THE SHIRT THEY GIVE U FOR THE PLAYOFFS - MATCHING SHIRTS MAKES U LOOK MORE LEGIT AS FANS

2. CHANT DEFENSE AT EVERY OPPOSING TEAM POSSESSION CHANTING "DEFENSE" ONLY WHEN WE ARE LOSING LOOKS DUMB

3. IF SITTING COURTSIDE, GET ON THE OTHER TEAMS FACE...THE RON ARTEST ACT OF 2004 WILL PREVENT ANY PLAYER FROM ATTACKING A FAN

kanx.

Problem with the Finals last year, having gone to each of the games, was they started at 6 on the dot if I'm not mistaken. It was very difficult for the fans to even get into the arena and their seats considering LA traffic around that time of day and the fact many fans have to leave work early to get there on time. This KILLED the noise, along with the below info.

If folks haven't noticed, any of the games that ABC/ESPN does have starting lineups and anthem happen BEFORE the actual time of the game (Game 1, starting lineups were happening at 11.55) and the game actually gets set for tipoff at a few minutes after the actual time (as opposed to when games are on TNT when there's plenty of time after the actual start time before anything happens). Fans weren't getting into their seats until about 3 minutes into the game - since most fans weren't aware that the game would be starting at 6 and not around 6.15, plus due to the early start time.
