i started around 96 on the old aol message boards.

i remember one of my first posts was trying to figure out our depth chart after we signed shaq and traded for kobe.

people blasted me because i had kobe before byron scott as our backup shooting guard, thats my first memory.

Lurked in June 2000 on Rivals/Lakers board before joining August 2000.
Started out searching for Draft info before stumbbling on the Lakers board.
I still remember expressing my first opinion of not thinking much of Deaven George and got blasted for it. Lost sleep on it because so many posters disagreed. But time proved I had an eye for talent or lack of.

april 01 for me.

was at nbarant.com (or something like that) maybe nbatalk, but a group of us from overthere all came here as our old site ended.

pokoy, lakersaregodsteam, gimmetherock, lakers72 and others are some oldschoolers i remember.

some kicked it at bootlegsports.com for a while. they had the open rant style like nbatalk. so was an adjustment getting used to topic threads.

but i love this place

part of my everyday net routine. and a big part of my work effectiveness declining.

I'm getting in on some of this! I started here in "01" before this it was the LA Times Laker board and rivals , big step up! I started as a young 20 year old going through school chatting about the Lakers, now an old fart with a career and kids and not much time to talk Lakers.

My date of joining (April 2001) is the time that the Lakersgound.net site replaced the old Lakersground.com site (on Rivals.com).

So I don't think you'll see any members of Lakersground.net any earlier than 2001.

Now, if you also want to include Lakersground.com, I'm pretty sure I go back to the summer of 2000, when Phil was signed as coach.

And the site was already rockin and rollin with lots of Lakers fan when I joined.

I found out about the site when someone came through and left a message about it on the MSNBC basketball forum (a really horrid place).

I also migrated here from the Rivals site.

mine says May 2004 but I was a member from at least 2002 as I remember posting in game during when Horry hit the game winner vs the Kings. I think we got new servers and some peoples (including mine) record got lost.

I didn't stumble across this site until May of 2003... when I was scouring the web for any crazy rumors I could find about GP or Malone signing with us. Good times. In hindsight I'm glad I hadn't found this site before then... since it makes me far less productive in my real life.

I wandered over from nbatalk, I think that was the site Chad Ford ran before he got hired by ESPN.....I am jealous!

First starting posting about the Lakers on the Prodigy board back in '96 or so. Yes, Prodigy.

Ive been lurking on this site since 2003 but for some reason my email address and even new ones I made were blocked every time i tried to sign up as a member up until last October. This is probably the best Lakers site going right now.

I was here in the Rivals days as well. I was LakeShowMan.

Unfortunately, one day my log in stopped working, and I have no idea why. After attempts to e-mail to get my log in re-activated, I finally just signed up a new username. Sucks, but it is what it is.

I lurked. I used to post on the AOL Laker board back in the 90s. Then I started posting on the Yahoo Laker boards. I finally decided to create an account here because I got tired of arguing with trolls on other boards. Moderators are necessary on sports boards, I'm afraid.
