A series with the Blazers probably would be interesting. Yes there was some terrible decision making in the last 2 minutes but from what I saw the rest of the game, I think the Lakers have a shot at stealing a game at the Rose Garden come playoff time though I fully expect it to be a very tough game. Besides, it's not like the Blazers have done much at Staples.

Tonight's game is a heartbreaking loss and while it is concerning to see such bad decision making down the stretch this close to the playoffs, it's been a damn good season. Whenever you can finish a season with less than 20 losses, you've been doing something right.

AGREED 100 %.....

Inability to stop Outlaw, Blake and Roy. Free throws (Refs). Bad play calls out of timeouts (Late).

It's ok to admit Kobe played bad down the stretch. I see you're desperate to jump on the "bad call out a timeout" to justify his play. But you don't know what was called and it is highely unlikely Rambis set up that catch and shoot fade away attempt.

I wonder if the play call was for Kobe to get all the way to the rim, and kick it out for a corner three pointer. He did this twice. First to Fisher, in a three point game. Then again to Odom, which resulted in a turnover.

It wasn't just the deep three (which was right out of a timeout). It was all of the play calls down the stretch.

It started with pulling Shannon Brown for Derek Fisher. Worst decision of the entire game! (everything went wrong after that).

gotta give credit to the blazers for attacking the rim and exposing the lakers over-zealous double teaming. lakers didnt execute very well either, not sure what kobe was doing at the end of the game, and not sure why we weren't exploiting lamar and odom more. if we had done that, then MAYBE we wouldve got more foul calls.

however, the refs were still horrible. it seemed like there was a foul call on the lakers every other possession. the blazers weren't even making that many shots in the 4th, they just kept going to the line. the lakers were over the limit with like 8 minutes left in the 4th, ridiculous. i think luke was called for 92 holding fouls, but im not sure.

Agreed, I believe that sealed the game, as brown had been playing the best defense out of all the pg's, and was in a good rhythm, wonder if Phil would have rode the hot hand out....

I'd just like to point out that something like 10 of those 18 FTA came in the "foul them every possession" time.

When Shanon Brown is ur only reliable shooter on ur team then u know ur gona have problems. Fish, sahsa, Ariza, and luke were scared little (bleep) out there. That's y they lost and ofcourse Pau couldn't buy a call, while oden was gettin away with murder

some positives from this game:

Lakers shot better from the field 44.7% to 42.7%

Lakers shot better from 3 point land 38.9% to 36%

Assists & Offensive rebounds were all even

However, Lakers committed 12 more fouls leading to 17 more free throws for Portland

So, the playoffs are more physical and usually the refs allow more contact, so I have no doubt the Lakers can win at the Rose Garden should the 2 teams meet in the second round.

Wow. A voice of reason in a land of chaos and panic.
