Gasol 14-19 for 36 points

Kobe-Sasha-Farmar combined 7-31 for 20 points

This is the second time in the last couple of weeks I have seen stats like this between 3 gaurds vs Gasol alone. Gasol scored 16 more points with 12 less shots

Thank god for Gasol!!

Will Sasha and Farmar finally step it up on this road trip? Kobe didn't have the greatest game for him tonight, but he got hurt. What's their excuse for their dreadful shooting percentages?

In the last 3 games, Sasha has made only 1 shot per game. Jordan is scary at the free-throw line at 59%. These guys need to step up their offensive production and give the starters more rest.

Chill!

Don't be wishing injury on anyone.

Man, i'm just pissed at harris. I saw him trying to take down Kobe by locking his feet into kobe's when he was falling down.

OH MAN! The crap Nets are baack in the game. 4th quarter collapse reminds me of yesterday's 2nd quarter collapse.

I don't think Harris is like that, or dirty. He isn't Paulina PiercED, or Garnett or Bowen.

Phil Jackson Post-Game Interview:

-(Q: Regarding the blown lead, what are your emotions after tonight's game?) A: This is a tale that's been told many times over this season, not that we're having a bad season about it but we're just relieving our starters right now, we're not playing with the guys coming off the bench. They're not playing the game that we want to play. You have to give credit to the opponent, there's no doubt about it. They went out and got aggressive and got things happening for themselves both halves. They changed the momentum in both the 2nd quarter and the 4th quarter.

-(Q: Is there a pattern with what's happening with your bench? They seemed to turn a corner in Chicago and maybe tonight had reverted back to some of the trouble they were having. Is there something specific that they're not doing?) A: Well, I like the fact that they got some turnovers, they had some run-outs in the 2nd period and things started looking pretty good, they built a lead in the 2nd quarter. You felt the momentum shift coming about mid-way in the 2nd period and in the 4th quarter it started right off the bat. They had a 3 pointer to start the 4th quarter and things started getting tight from there and our guys that are shooters didn't shoot the ball well, Sasha and Jordan had opportunities in the zone and they didn't make shots.

-(Q: What can you tell us about Kobe's anke?) A: He sprained it and we're just going to have to wait and see what it's like tomorrow... see what Sunday brings.

-(Q: You've won the Western Conference which I know was one of your goals. Are you surprised you were able to do it this early in the season?) A: Well, we're fortunate we didn't have a whole lot of injuries outside of Andrew this year that limited us and we got some momentum and kept it this year.

-(Q: Pau Gasol had a monster game. One of his best as a Laker and certainly the best this year. What did you think of his performance?) A: You know, I liked everything Pau did except rebound. In the 1st half he did not rebound the way I wanted him to rebound and that's one of the things we keep harping on him if we're going to be a team that competes and does what we expect to do and this season we've got to rebound the basketball.

-(Q: Is there any joy in winning the WC or is it just a check mark?) A: Well, yes. You have to take time out and appreciate that and go from there. But this isn't our goal... this isn't the season goal.

-(Q: Is it tempered because you're still trailing Cleveland?) A: No, that's not the thing, it's tempered because we have the playoffs to go towards and we have to get better and we're just trying to get continually better as a basketball team.

-(Q: No team has ever gone 7-0 on a road trip in the NBA. Are you starting to think about that now that you've started off 4-0?) A: No, I'm not. We have probably the one game we've always thought was a very tough game coming up on Sunday against Atlanta in Atlanta. They're a team that's aggressive and young and they're very athletic so we know we have a big one ahead of us and that's not the end of the road trip so we're just trying to win one at a time.

is being tired reason enough for kobe to liberally jack up jumpshots when we have a HUGE size advantage??? definitely a question for the playoffs

i am tired of people spending all the energy on complainung time after time about kobe in this and othe game thread. when did you say anything good about him. hell, even claimed kobe is impossible to be liked and no true basketball fan will enjoy his play. sometime, i got to question people's agenda behind all their post then i realized why do i expect every one here is lakers fan. move on

Pau Gasol Interview:

-(Q: It's got to feel good to not only have a great individual game but also to win a game when Kobe has an off night... that's got to be a good sign, right?) A: It's a good sign but we just don't look at individual performances. Obviously Kobe is our guy and he normally takes the most shots out there, he's the most effective out there but overall we have to look at the game and how it went down, what did we do well and what did we not do well. We're happy about the win, obviously it was a great win but we still can look back and find some mistakes, again being up by 20 and all of a sudden it's a 3 point game...that shouldn't happen.

-(Q: What allowed you to get back into the game and take control?) A: The intensity and the quality of the players out there. Pretty much the guys who are more veterans and who know the experience and know what it takes to come down on the road and win ball games. That's what's allowing us to overcome deficits and these leads that we're giving up.

-(Q: You clinched the Western Conference tonight. How do you feel about that?) A: We feel good about it, it's one step forward that we took tonight but now we're thinking about Atlanta. I'm thinking about getting rest tomorrow & getting ready for Atlanta which is a very tough game, a place where we lost last year. It's definitely something that we're motivated about, we want to continue to prove ourselves, we want to continue to play well on the road and we want to continue to win.
