The other lakers are dependent on Kobe and Gasol setting them up and running the offense.. not Kobe dribbling the ball at the top with two guys shadowing him and then forcing the action.. that's the problem of Kobe scoring a lot on isolation.. it takes a while for the team to get back into the flow and play with some life.

defensively, Bynum is missed of course.. but, the guards can't keep guys in front of them and the guy who can decides to sleep on defense and roam. Gasol isn't going to cover up their mistakes.

How could Phil not have Ariza in at one of the guard spots during the last minutes of this game when their backcourt had been killing us----but nooooo, he went with Sasha and Fish and again made the flush on the river card.....what the hell do I know...no rings for me 9 for the River Boat Gambler!!!

Sasha was clutch actually.

Wouldn't have minded having him for Fish though.

Damn I had to miss the game because of class. I wasn't missing any previous games on Monday or Wednesday because they were all home games so I got home before they started .

At least I will be home in time for the game against the Celdicks.

I love these post game polls on LTV. They always ask the equivalent of "Which is a more glorious franchise--Lakers or Celtics?" to a legion of Laker viewers.

Should have started Ariza at PG for defense. No way they should get away with playing with no ball handlers against us.
Disagree. Short term thinking.
I want him rested and ready for Pierce.

Good to see the Lakers win; I hope they have something in store for Boston, though. (Bleep) I was looking forward to seeing Bynum manhandle them the way he was playing before he went down.

I see Lebron's taken 33 shots tonight at MSG... yeah he doesn't pay attention to stats.

Match up purposes. Bargnani is freaking 7footer

and Luke is 7footer himself?

Odom is guarding Bargnani.

So why mention Bargnani in the first place?

Luke is so useless out there.

Leads the team in assists tonight.

Luke is so useless out there.

Useless? He's not the greatest, but he only 18 minutes tonight and lead the team in assists.

Agree.Assists are important.
Petty belittling is trendy but weak.

I hate when the Lakers turn into a Kobe circus. His last shots are not serious. This is an NBA game, damn it, not a playground

+1

They may win tonight, but if this is the way the Lakers are going to play without Bynum, they won't get out of the west.

Kobe can't turn into a ball hog again.

Good grief. The guy plays lights out for 2 games and now we are ready to call him a ball hog again? Never mind that he shot WELL over 50% (shooting over 48% on the season btw). Here's a news flash. Normally, your superstars pull you through on the road. Pau and Kobe have come up big. Trust me, Kobe will find the balance that is needed between scoring and getting the others involved. If the last 2 years haven't convinced some of that, they will never be convinced.

Another team plays their hearts out against the Lakers, only to have victory snatched away from them. We didn't play that well defensively, but lets give the Raps some credit, they were making shots outta their asses tonight, they really wanted to win this game. Just didn't happen for them, thanks goodness. I really don't expect us to beat Boston or the Cavs on this trip, not without Bynum. Were gonna compete, i know that.

Our key players played MAJOR minutes before a back to back road game against Boston. Too bad. Happy about the win though, but shouldn't have been this much of a struggle.

Our bench isn't stepping up and doesn't have Odom on it kick. Also, Fisher isn't scoring enough lately.

Perhaps he wants Ariza to be as fresh as possible for heavy minutes against Pierce/Rondo tomorrow? Who knows?
