Once Fish had gotten beat, he should have just let him shoot.

Yup. And Fisher knows it. Utter brain dump to try to steal the ball that way, knowing you could draw a 3-point play.

Kobe did the right thing. Ariza did the right thing. Refs did not do the right thing.

and why take a Time out and draw a play? maybe get in Vlad instead of Ariza cos he can spread the floor or hit a J?

Fish and Phil cost us the game

We were out of timeouts.

Hell, even JVG over on ESPN said it was NOT a travel and "not a good NBA call late in the game". And Mark Jackson said Ariza should have been going to the line.

We we're honestly lucky to be in that position in the first place.
Kobe did his thing & carried us to the lead.

Fish makes a bonehead play.

Refs make a stupid call

game over

The old Reggie Miller kick-out. I haven't seen that in awhile. Bad call by the refs.

It was a foul....but they weren't gonna call that to end the game. Not for Ariza at least. A star like Kobe...different story.

Glad you're not a ref. Then again, maybe you are.

Good game we had heart and fought back, honestly with the game yesterday, I didn't think we would win this one, but couple mental mistakes and some iffy calls from the refs sealed it, but lets no dwell on this and get the next two, those are both big games, that we need to take care off.

Ariza should have either shot it or passed it around. Ariza makes some stupid ass plays on offense

You just made my point. Ariza is not a playmaker...i just thought kobe should've taken the shot, given that he was hot.

They're not going to call that... especially in the last seconds of a game and especially after letting Ariza get butchered worse.

Oh, but they're GONNA CALL F'N TRAVELING TO END THE GAME??!! COMPLETE AND UTTER HORSE (BLEEP)!!!

Yeah I wouldn't really expect them to call a foul in SA, but to call traveling because he was fouled???? WOW!

Ariza could have easily passed the ball back. Or passed it to someone else.

I can't even smile now, Kobe played so big in that 4th quarter, made the right passes, played unselfishly, took the big shots, made the big shots, told the team were winning this game, and in the end gets nothing but a L.

You've got to feel for KOBE!!!!!

I bet Spurs fans are laughing right now.

Kobe: Yay! Yay! Yay! Take that again Timothy and company!
Popovich: Okay, Roger, here's what I want you to do... *Starts talking*
Mason: *Thinking* I wonder if I should get SubWay or Quiznos later tonight...
Popovich: OK, go!
*Mason gets ball*
Roger: What did he tell me to do... I forgot! Something about SubWay or Quiznos?
*Image of a Japanese Karate master pops into his head pops into his mind*
Hallucination: The swing your feet into somebody else is a very effective method in sparring.
Mason: I don't know why Coach changed appearances, and he mixed up the words Karate and BasketBall, but I always listen to my coach!
Mason: *Kicks down Fisher and scores*
*Whistle*
Mason: Thanks, coach!

Spurs fans: @ Kobe

Ariza WAS fouled which should have been free throws where he would have atleast tied and likely wont the game for us

but that said, Phil's specific situation lineups SUCK!
I'm the biggest Ariza fan but you dont put him in when we're down with 12 seconds left. Put in Rad who can help spot up Kobe

I don't see how the Lakers did not play well. SA is a top contending team. The Lakers shot the ball well. The spurs shot well. Just 2 good teams duking it out. The only difference was a crucial foul call on a stunted Fisher.... Well, that and all the extra free-throw attempts the Spurs got but don't give to the Lakers. I guess the real difference is Fisher's brainfart and the refs' "officiating."

this is what i'm trying to say. i'm not mad at kobe, i'm just saying that maybe Ariza isn't someone you want to pass to in that situation.

I just thought kobe should've taken the shot, that's all.
