And Kobe did what he should have, passed out of those doubles to the open shooter. Good game by Kobe.

Yup I can't complain at Kobe normally he tries to force it but today he made the right play and we just couldn't convert those open shots. Oh well really happy boston lost, it make this loss easier to swallow.

Yep, Bynum has been an epic failure this year. Gasol at least shows up most of the time.

Please. When Kobe has to go off like he did because no one else could hit a shot, you find a way to criticize Kobe's defense? The game was lost when Phil decided to take Kobe out. We were up 5 and immediately they Hornets go on a 9-0 run. By the time Phil put Kobe back in, they were doing all they could to take the ball out of his hands. And when he passed it out, no one else could make a freaking shot.

No, the game was lost when the Lakers gave up 32 in the first, then 61 at half time, then 89 at the end of the third. They were crap on defense and deserved to lose this game.

Sure, the defense was bad. But Kobe single handedly changed the game. They couldn't stop him, and when the Hornets doubled Kobe hit the right guy every time for an easy score. Kobe goes out and all they changed immediately.

Why the love for 3s down the stretch?

Couldn't they try midranges or layups?

Garbage was shooting 34 3's and only creating 9 TOs. This game was lost on the offensive perimeter and defensive end.

I think that happened because there is no one else really that can create for the others or themselves.

The three previous times we faced the Hornets, we had 25 point leads. So if that happens, we win 4-0. The Hornets were due for a good game against the Lakers, doesn't mean there's going to be a playoff sweep. It'd be like saying we'll get swept by Sacrament if we play like we did on the road against them.

When you're out-shot by 13 FTs on your home floor, including 0 FTs in the 4th quarter, you won't win. In that run the Lakers had in the 3rd when Kobe was on fire, they were fouled on 4 straight possessions, but didn't shoot a single FT.

It's been said before - when the refs refuse to call a foul on the other team, you're not going to kill yourself driving into the paint anymore. What's the point? That's the reason for all the 3's in the 4th.

Refs giving the other team an extra 13 FTAs + a hot Odom getting hurt + no Luke or Farmar + a sucky Vlad, Sasha, Bynum and Pau = loss, no matter who they're playing.

Phil taking Kobe out of the game was a horrible decision. You only got 1 guy playing well and you take him out of the game, they go on a tear, then when Kobe comes back he's cold. We really were playing against the Hornets+refs+Phil tonight

Did you hear Joel say about Chris how he changes hands with bringing the ball down and I was thinking he was going to say a palming violation or something but he was comparing him to great once lol

That is what Norm was just saying, against good teams you have to establish an inside game. Our perimeter players don't seem to have the bball IQ to figure that out.

True, but that's the time you want your superstar to carry you. Kobe was doing that until Phil pulled him out.

I say we switch PFs. And centers, for that matter.

We hit 16 of those for a 47.1% total though. Sure we missed a ton of them at the end but the 3s were the only reason we didn't lose by alot more than what we did.

We have a back to back w/ game 2 against a notorious uptempo team. Kobe needs to get rest at some point.

one player got calls with 13ft's

the other didnt and got 6ft's

One had over 25% of his shots from beyond 3, the other worked more inside. That is why 3-point shots suck.

6/7 from 3 sucks?

wow, thanks for clearing that up cause for decades i was clearly thinking opposite

West shot 63% of his shot attempts outside the key

the only thing Im pissed about more than anything is that Kobe didnt get a chance to get to 40 again.

I was as sure as my name he'd go for 45-50, whne 3rd ended and he had 37.

Amazing that he shot 1-6...but really, the Hornets basically doubled upon the CATCH and sometimes whne Kobe gets ridiculously hot, he starts taking off balance shots that have NO CHACNE of going on...althoug he is fouled quite often on those attempts as well.

So you care more about Kobe getting 40, then the Lakers lackluster play and ref rigging?

Cause I already knew that was gonna happen anyway man.

When the writing was on the wall, that was it. The refs decided to NOT call it fairly and that was that.

When that happens, might as well look to the game within the game and that was hoping Kobe kept his shooting percentage high and got 40.
