Orlando is next, with the way things are going I wouldn't be surprised if the Lakers won by 10

The only reason why we are 21-4 is because we have played and won a bunch of home games, the disappointing thing about this team, is they are playing worse as the season goes on, they are suppose to be playing better aint it?

in all honesty, we are very spoiled laker fans. no one remembers four years ago at all.

21-4 is still great but, the celtics are going to smash the lakers on christmas day.

the celtics are playing with effort for 48 minutes, unlike the lakers the celtics play defense for 48 minutes, unlike the lakers.

i love the lakers with all my soul but lakers fans must be very aware that teh celtics are great, the lakers are good.

The funny thing is that I know we'll have a better chance against Orlando because I know Bynum will defend Dwight much better than Kobe did against Wade.

I'm with you, dude hits the tough shot to get 'em close and then barely misses the potential tying shot...people need to seriously STFU on this board. If Bynum + Pau + LO even decide to make the trip (and some FTs) then there is no discussion.

Kobe didn't exactly play that well. 13 EFF and pretty much let Wade abused him.

Did you watch the game? I thought Kobe did his best to keep Wade in front of him ..but it takes 2 to play a screen and roll, how would you suggest defending him? Kobe wasn't dominant, but he sure as hell was the best player on his team and tried getting his team involved early too bad no one showed.

to me if we are still losing to miami, then nothing has changed since 4 yrs ago, just a better record but no trophy at the end of the season, and this sucks much worse bcuz the expectations are greater.

He felt the starters were ineffectual for too long. Can't really blame him there. It wasn't exactly VBK vs Wilt.

I'm waiting for all the excuses threads to pop up on how it's just a "bad matchup" or the planets weren't aligned or some other crap other than the fact that we turn the ball over way too much, lack any passion at all, cannot focus for more than a few minutes at a time, etc etc

Plain and simple we have a long way to go if we have any hope of not being embarrassed again in the playoffs. Yes there is plenty of time to turn it around but unfortunately at this point our guys are talking the talk but far from walking the walk.

This is team is no contender right now. Their record is more now like fools gold. Now that realization has really sunk in, it's not so hard now to accept that a suck ass Miami Heat team just broke their 3 game losing streak to the Lakers. Boy does this team really have problems and there's nothing that the Laker coaching staff can do about, especially since they're part of the problem. Here we come Orlando.

"Fools Gold" would be an acerbic Times headline. Right up Plaschke's alley.

Looks like I missed a nail biter. I'll try not to miss another game, but I still think people that cling to team records are short-sighted. The only value to be placed on the regular season is HCA. This is Phil's time to tinker with the lineups and get into his players heads. It's all strategy, preparing for the playoffs. Just look at 2005, Kobe went from dominant scorer in the regular season, to playmaker in the playoffs. I think this year, Lamar will go from 6th man to starting...*I'll finish at the end*

I'm waiting on the recap.

Not that it matters, but I'm deliberately not watching this game.

1. Chalmers is going to have a career night against Fisher and Farmar.
2. We play like crap on the road.
3. Nationally televised game ... biggest embarrassment of the season.

I'll read DancingBarry's recap.

Whew. I have those fears as well, but will take a few peeks and watch anyway. Difficult season so far for having such an excellent record. Every report and comment is mostly cup-half-full these days. It's like the team is in the toilet, not where they are. Two years ago, if I'd have wished for a team like this with Pau and Andrew's emergence and even the problems with Luke, Radman and Farmar, I'd have been very happy to have what we have now. Still, wishing perfection and consistency from this group is troublesome - they don't play up to their potential (which we all seem to perceive as very dominating.) Imagine being a fan in Milwaukee or Seattle (now OakCity?) Now, those situations are perpetually empty cups.

I think Phil is grooming Lamar to be the starting "point guard". The guard position is the hardest to learn in the triangle offense. He has to "read and react" to every other player on the floor. Luke knows how to play guard, he can rack up a number of assists just reading and reacting to the defense. The position Lamar will end up starting at will be small forward, but he will act as the team point guard.

Who cares if Kobe did his best? No one cared when Fisher does his best and still gets burned. And even though the rules have made guarding perimeter players tougher, Kobe has the same benefit offensively. In the end, Kobe didn't do much, relatively speaking.

13 EFF to 26 EFF, that's a negative of -13. The truth is, when Bynum had that 16 and 3 game and shut down Brand, you could say he had just as good a game(just because Fisher got burned doesn't mean it's his fault, after all, where are the lobs from Fisher to Bynum?)

Now your argument can be that Brand is not as good as Wade, and Wade didn't actually guard Kobe, but in the end, those two factors will at most equalize the fact that Bynum outperformed Brand, and Kobe got outperformed by Wade, by a wide margin.

I thought so. The fact is, you were only paying attention to one end of the floor. If you were paying attention to both, you'd see that Kobe had a "Fisher-like" game defensively.
