If you don't play massive amounts of D on these Celtics, you are not gonna win. You are not gonna break down their defense, plain and simple....

I don't think Phil "gets" this fact.

He and team better get it soon. You are not beating Celtics in 7 game series without holding them to under 40% FG....

I dunno how a coaching staff cannot understand that by LOOKING at one game, much less losing in Finals....

Yeah, he does so many things defensively... Boston will miss this guy.

actually you're right in theory about playing great de vs the celtics. thats not necessary. we played enough de last time minus game 2 refs and the cant breath by pierce stuff. lets assume all that happens again.

how do you beat the celtics? high Low, big to big. it worked so well it gaves us our largest leads. the moment we chose to go away from it(the celtics never made it miss, or blocked it, or stole the ball from that setup. why did we change it? put that up there with understanding women.

i dont care how TOUGH their defense is. its made for Dummies. which most nba teams/players are. they see packed in guys and they freak and shoot jumpers. or you get the guy who can't shoot a lick that just barrells his way in there and gets called for charges or ends up turning it over. you run zone busting plays on the cetlics, and watch would happen. you will break that packed in defense. and once they decide to go man. KG will be exposed in the low post(still a thin guy at the end of the day, the mean face doesn't change that), kendrick P will be walked around and called for more fouls then he got last year, ray allen will be totally exposed and will foul out(he has vs kobe), eddie house off the bench will turn into a turnstile like he is, rondo will get worked because he reaches a lot. i'm telling you once you crack that zone and stay dedicated to beating it from the high low, big to big action. baseline cuts, occasional 3's and mid rangers. game over. the celtics can't score much without you playing crazy defense. its your offense that they thrive on. if you shoot dumb shots, they get runouts, if you make dumb passes, they get run outs, if you take super tough shots with 10 guys on you and you're not the bigman(pf/c) you will give them numbers on a break they may turn into a slow break(was fast, but they stopped pulled it back then hit you with a cutter or open shooter really quick.

the only reason i'm afraid of the green machines is because phil and our guys dont know anything about zone busting. if they did. i would watch the tip off then fall asleep knowing good and well the lakers would beat them in a game, and in a series. with 3 famers on that team.

paul pierce is the only legit defender on that team outside of rondo. but paul unlike rondo doesn't go for suicide reaches. he goes for obvious reaches and helpside reaches. rondo does that and goes for suicide stuff because he can with how you're playing vs their team defense. smarting up and destory that defense. end of the c's.

Boston and Cleveland are just amazing! I bet they could easily hold Suckramento to under 80 points.

I know for sure they're scoring at least 105 tonight on the Lakers great defense.
