if we win by 10, thats fine.

But what I really want to see is John Salmons go 3-15 from the field because Kobe took him so far away from the rim he's in the nosebleed section.

Woah, didn't expect these many responses. and in response to an earlier post, you're right the Kings aren't our rivals. Never have been. After all, a rival is someone that can actually beat the opposition. The Kings have never really beaten us in the playoffs.

Regardless, them outplaying us Tuesday was unacceptable. I'm psyched about this game. This will be the first game, we'll actually see if the Lakers can come back and beat a team (regardless of how crappy they are) after they've beaten us.

Kobe will pop the jersey tonight. book it!

I´m an "a win is a win" kind of guy. But not today. There´s something called "vendetta"

Edit: I want enough advantage for Gasol and Kobe not to play more than 30 minutes

Under that criteria the Boston Celtics beat the Lakers 10 times in the Finals and the Lakers were never a rival until the 84-85 season when the Lakers won. I beg to differ that the playoffs with the Lakers always losing to the Celtics wasn't a rivalry. It might have been the biggest rivalry in the history of sports. It sure seemed like it to me as a Laker fan back then.

Just a couple of days ago Phil Jackson himself was talking of the rivalry with the Kings.

Tonight...If the Lakers are that good and the Kings that bad the Lakers should be favored by at least the spread of 16.5. But, the Kings match up well if no one has noticed. Fisher has no chance to stop the Kings points. Kobe has a tough time staying in front of Salmons. Walton has his work cut out against Garcia, who can also leave Walton and help on defense. That leaves Gasol and Bynum against Hawes and Miller. Only Bynum plays defense, but only in the paint. Having Bynum and Gasol running all over the floor chasing bigs who also play outside leaves the lane open. Layups. Too bad the Kings will be missing their best player again. The advantage for the Lakers is the Kings have 3 rookies in the rotation. In the 1st game at Staples the rookies played half the minutes.

ahh revenge from tuesday today. im predicting we practiced some good defense the last 2 days and we show everyone we can play d.

Didn't you hear, they got the day off yesterday. PJ was probably rewarding them for the "fine" job they've been doing recently.

Anyway I want egg on my face tonight, I really do. I wanna look stupid for being bitter and skeptical. Here's to hoping for that.

Lotta confidence on the thread, but really, when was the last strong game we played? It's been awhile, I mean we have won games, but not with a lot of strength lately. This is the team that whupped us a few days ago; aside from Gasol, the man eating tiger has starved to death walking through our locker room of late. We have to step it up if we think we are going to solidly beat the Kings, a team that has our number of late.

It isn't so much "confidence" but demands. The Lakers need to bury the Kings. Need to destroy them. Doesn't have to be by 20 or anything but the Lakers need to control the game.

and has killed them ever since jack kent cooke owned the team. i really don't think the lakers franchise is contractually even allowed to defend the high pick and roll.

I am going to go with a Laker win but I have no faith in the Laker defense at all. Salmons is going to look like an All-Star again against Kobe and everybody else on the Kings will get theirs...still, I expect the Lakers to win.

Sure better be able to protect our home floor against a team like this...

I'll be watching but definitely not taking anything for granted with our team anymore

Defense is better right now with the Kings held to 0 points.

But where is the offense?

If the Lakers don't win tonight the entire team and coaching staff have to wear cowbells tied around their necks for a week.
