1. Gasol Guards LaMarcus Aldridge From The Start
Less than a week ago LaMarcus Aldridge got off to a torrid start against the Lakers. Lamar Odom had two first quarter fouls and had to sit early. The second half Aldridge was not as effective. I believe Gasol's length bothered him and I was impressed that Gasol actually battled with him in the post.
2. Bryant Suffocates Roy Early
Roy is a legitmate all-star coming back from injury. If he can get off to a slow start, as Wade did last night, he will not be as dangerous throughout the game and in theory it would not be as difficult to put the game away.
3. Avoid Foul Trouble To Key Starters
Easier said than done, but early fouls to Bryant and Odom made for a long night. Gasol, Bryant, and Odom must play significant minutes early for the Lakers to get control early. Fisher and Walton are important, but as critical with our solid bench play.
4. Start the offense in the post
If the lakers fall in love with the jump shot this could spell disaster as long misses mean defensive rebounds, fast breaks and easy points. Starting the offense in the post with Gasol, Bryant and Odom will force Portland to double team (get sliced as Odom and Walton slash to the basket) or play single coverage, and get gored.
This game will not be easy. The TrailBlazers are a dangerous team with a record that does not reflect their ability. At home and fresh off a loss in LA they will have all the motivation they need to attempt to end the Lakers current win streak.

Did something change, I read that Roy is doubtful for tonight's game. _________________ **Bling** Cubed LakerStats.com - Stastistical History of the Lakers Franchise
The Portland Trail Blazers (30-28) take on the Los Angeles Lakers (41-17) for the second time this season tonight at the Rose Garden. The Blazers are just a few days removed from a 96-83 loss to Kobe Bryant and company at the Staples Center. Recent history would indicate that Portland might have better luck tonight at the Rose Garden, as the Trail Blazers haven't lost to the Lakers at home since February 23, 2005.
Brandon Roy, who missed the first contest against the Lakers on Tuesday with an ankle injury, is expected to play. So to is James Jones, who has been sidelined since the start of February with a sore left knee.
You gotta play physical and tough. Lakers came out physically and mentally soft and had their asses handed to them by the Blazers in the first quarter. They manned up and got physical in the second half and won the game. _________________ 1) DO WHATEVER IT TAKES

Tonight's strategy is to execute our execution in an executional manner. As long as we execute this execution strategy, we'll be fine.
We need to hit the open man, move the ball around, communicate well on defense, and box out.
In all seriouness, we need to protect the boards... portland KILLED us on the boards, which lead to second and third opportunities for the Blazers. As long as we do that, it should be a blow out. 115-93 Lakers.
We need to start Ronny tonight and put him on Aldridge early, I don't remember him doing anything with Ronny guarding him the last game. He abused Pau and Lamar something terrible.

I think that had a lot to do with the Heat playing like the All Kleenex Team. Hopefully the team can cinch it up and focus in on the kill. Portland will be a different team with Roy back. 2nd night of a back to back, on the road... looks like a challenge.

This one is going to be tougher than I think some people believe.
My personal feeling is the Lakers drop this one - though they have proven me wrong repeatedly this year and they may very be the team that really does beat the teams they need to beat every night.
But The Stinkin Rose has been tough for the Lakers - and the other night was harder than expected for a reason.
I expect the Blazers to feel like they need to make up for not getting the one the other night.
I think this one will be pretty close the whole way. It will come down to who gets what done in the last couple minutes.
The Lakers have been good on the road, but they also dropped a couple "shoulda wons".
Lakers 94
Blazers 99
Now . . . prove me wrong Lakers . . . please. _________________ You thought God was an architect, now you know
