LB answered the question... I was talking about Johnny Pastrami's in Culver City. The taco shop diagnal from it is a decent one as far as LA goes, and I thought it was King Taco.

King Taco in East LA, sadly, I am in Alta Loma. Actually, not sadly. I love it where I live except it's tough to get a good burrito in the IE. Nice people in Alta Loma, though. Good grief though! I kinda like Qdoba and Chipotle but PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE!! Don't tell me that those wimp wraps they have are trying to pass as a real burrito!

First thing I want to say. The emphasis of a burrito should be FLAVOR. A burrito should not being all sissified and health conscious. There's a time and a place for healthy food, but a real burrito is a BURRITO, not an expression of nuevo-organic-free range-humane-eco-friendly cuisine. I want food with flavor. Don't trim the fat, don't worry about the grease. Let me do the worrying.

This is why I like taco trucks aka catering trucks parked on some roadside selling burritos and tacos at 11 at night... with strobe lights blinking and ranchero dudes ordering burritos the way mother nature intended.

If you think THAT burrito was good, go to one of the few remaining old school stand-alone green burritos and get yourself a "Super Meat". It'll knock your socks off!

DAMN SHAME! CKE, for all the killer burgers they make, has taken a crap into a tortilla, rolled it up and called it "Green Burrito".

If this is the Green Burrito, where is "The Big Ed", "The Super Meat" or "Super Nachos"? They don't even have Horchata and Orange Bang at the CKE ones.

DAMN SHAME!

I love Chipotle. It's the shiznit.

I also like the chimichanga with shredded beef from On the Border.

I also sing "I got my burritos babay~~" when I eat burritos... like John Witherspoon (Mr. Jones) from Next Friday.

Don Amigo's on Manchester by the 405 in Inglewood. Best Carne Asada I've had north of the border.

Yup I agree with the King Taco choice.

They also have a spot in Pasadena at Old Town.

I love their all-meat burritos. F'n amazing.

For 24 hour places, there's a joint off the 5fwy, on Broadway. If you're going southbound, you've gotta exit Mission I think it is. Then turn left, and another left at the light across from a 7-11. Keep going about a half a mile until you hit Broadway. Then turn left on Broadway and you'll see it past the bridge on your right side. It's called "Las Carnitas" I think. I've only been there twice but both times I've been kind of drunk at 4am so my memory somewhat escapes me. In any case, it's a good place. Big servings, good food.

For chain store burritos, try the Overstuffed Burrito at La Salsa

It ain't cheap (it runs about $7!!) but it is very good.

Of course, living in San Diego, I am partial to Roberto's....the Carne Asada Burrito and my favorite, the Machaca burrito are simply brilliant.

So when I finally head out to CA, who is gonna show me where to get the best burritos and other Mexican foods? There is a Mexicotown in Detroit, and it is fine, but I don't think it compares. But then again, how would I know?

Del Taco anyone? El Pollo Loco? Ummm, guess not...

In that case, Chipotle at the Riverside Plaza, Papis on Van Buren Ave in Riverside, Alberto's, Rubio's (University Ave. Riverside), and Oboba's (Moreno Valley) to name some of my favorites.
