In case anybody missed it, Duke had a 3 point lead with 5 seconds remaining, and the ball. They inexplicably through the inbound pass to a Clemson player right behind the 3pt line. He grabbed the ball, lined up the shot, and Swish!, game tied. Unfortunately the Duke timekeeper had never started the clock. After reviewing it, the refs put 4.4 seconds back on the clock. Duke subsequently executed a nice play and won.
If you take a stop watch and start it at the point the Clemson player touches the ball until his shot goes through the net, it is approximately 2.5 seconds. A player grabbing a ball, setting his feet, and shooting in under .6 seconds would be quite fast. There's no way all of that and the flight of the ball would take that little amount of time.
Considering that the refs had all the time they needed to look at the play, time it, etc., its hard to say this wasn't deliberate. Having seen this type of thing countless times with Duke, it's getting real hard to deny their is something real strange going on. _________________ “We must always take sides. You have to admit that without the extra 2 seconds, that coast to coast would have been more of a long heave and hope. _________________ “We must always take sides. Neutrality helps the oppressor, never the victim. Silence encourages the tormentor, never the tormented.” ― Elie Wiesel |

Yeah, they've never done that before. Just ask Rick Pitino. _________________ Game recognize game, Granddad. - Riley Freeman, The Boondocks |
