Hey folks, I'm having some problems trying to burn downloaded video files to a disc. I'm using Sonic Record Now, and can't seem to burn these avi files I have. Anyone know if there is a better program to use? Or is there a way to convert avi files to a different (burnable) type of file? Any help is appreciated. Thanks.

I actually use Sonic to turn AVI's into DVD files. Basically, I use Sonic to create the menu system for the DVD and place a few AVI's into that. Then I use Sonic to turn that into DVD files. After that I use DVD Shrink to compress and burn those onto a DVD. Using DVD Shrink to compress everything will give you a lot more room on the DVD. A bit of a process, but quick and easy when you get used to it.

Nero is another good option if you're just looking to replace Sonic.

Yea... Usually I do DVD shrink FIRST and then use Sonic when "backing up" my dvd's. But this seems like its reversed. I'll toy around with it and see what I can do.

Ok, I figured that all I need is a way to convert AVI files into DVD type files. Anyone have experience with any?
