I was just wondering if there were any other Texas A&M Men's basketball fans on this board.

The Aggies were 0-16 in conference play (Big XII conference) 3 years ago. Then they brought in an outstanding new young coach Billy Gillispie. They went 8-8 in conference play that season and finished deep in the NIT tournament.

The next season (last year) they advanced to the NCAA tournament only to fall one game short on a last second shot to a final-four bound LSU team.

This year the Aggies are ranked #6 in the nation and are coming off a win 67-49 over #12 OSU. 8)

The Aggies are considered to be one of, if not the hardest working defensive teams in the nation. They are led by Junior Joseph Jones, and seniors Acie Law and Antanas Kavaliauskas. The Aggies have a good shot of making the final four this year, and perhaps even winning it all.

More info can be found here: http://www.aggieathletics.com/index.php?SID=MBB

Also, they secured the #8 highest rated prospect in the nation as a recruit next year, 7'0" Deandre Jordan. And they will be returning almost all of their players, including sophomore Josh Carter, true freshman Donald Sloan, and one of the best defensive players in the nation Dominique Kirk.

Just keeping you guys up with what's going on down here in Aggieland. We got quite a good team down here, and more of the nation needs to know about them.

Thanks and Gig 'Em!

No, but they're a good team with a big, strong frontcourt. They gave UCLA all they could handle earlier in the year. I just don't know if their backcourt could carry the team in case they met another physical team that balances out their own bigs.
