Hey all,

The draft order has been decided. It was done by pulling names out of a hat and was done fairly. I typed up all the team names, cut them into equal sizes, folded them into equal sizes and put them in a little bin. Thats how the order was decided.

This new draft order should be reflected on the leauge page. I will also send out emails.

Hey all,

Based on the votes, PMs I've received and postings on the league message board, the draft will be on Monday, September 25th at 11PM ET.

The draft order will be postetd tomorrow.

Alright so I just realized today that there is going to be a major issue with us drafting at 11PM ET tomorrow. Basically, nba.com doesn't give you flexible draft time. The draft times available are pre-arranged, unlike the yahoo fantasy draft. Basically, you can only choose from a list of provided draft times. I apologize for this - I should have realized this earlier.

The original draft time was set for 10PM ET tomorrow but most people said that it was inconvenient for them. As a result I have not included 10PM ET tomorrow as an option.

That being said, there is no draft slot available for 11PM ET tomorrow. I'm guessing most people would prefer to draft in the evening/night So basically, here are the open draft slots for the next few days on nba.com

- Since on Thurs, Fri & Sat draft slots are only open until mid afternoon I suggest we don't draft on any of these days.
- Sunday 9/24/2006 @ 11 PM ET
- Monday 9/25/2006 @ 11PM ET

Once again, I'm really sorry for the inconvenience. Please vote on the draft time.

So, now we need to come up with a way to decide the draft order. The default is based on when you signed up. We could

A) Keep things as they are
B) Choose a different method

I would like to hear some suggestions as to how we can do this if your answer is B. Please post your ideas in this thread. One that has already been sugested is that I pick names out of a hat.

Once I've gotten a couple suggestions, I'll set up a poll.

Hey all, the league is full but i've got another request to join. would you be against increasing the league size from 16 to 18? I would really appreciate it if everyone in the league would voice their opinion in the next day or so.

* Time Permitted Between Each Pick : 90 seconds
* Missed picks before put on auto-pick: 4
* It seems as though the draft order isn't random as I had hoped. The comish gets to set the draft order, please give me ideas as to how i should set the draft order. I want this to be fair. Ideas???

Roster Info:

* Number of Divisions : 2; North & South Allstars
* Roster Size : 16
* Roster Positions: PG, SG, G, SF, PF, F, C (2 spots), Utility (2 Spots), Bench (6 spots)
* Categories : 3 pointers made, assists, blocked shots, FG%, FT%, points, steals, rebounds, TOs
* Lineup changes take effect daily; Players lock 5 mins prior to their game
* #of days on waivers before player becoming a FA : 2

Trades :

- Can be vetoed by owners
- Are reviewable for 2 days by owners
- Number of teams needed to veto trade = 9
- Trade deadline = 2/24/2007
- No can't cut list

Playoffs:

This will be up to the owners in the league. There are advantages and disadvantages to this. There is the issue of teams resting their best players towards the end of the season. Majority wins.

as for draft order, just do it it the old fashion way...throw some names in a hat and select names/choose draft order.

The last league I did only had 8 teams. With 16 players are gonna be hard to come by, 18, the winner ends up being a toss up.

Yeah, its hard enough to field a good roster in a league with 16 teams, at 18 your looking at your last 3 or 4 players being backup scrubs that might not even play. Guys like Keith McCleod, Brian Scalibrine, Michael Olowokandi, Jason Kapono. I'd rather not have to worry whether the Kandi man is going to get any minutes this season.

thanks for voicing your opinions. keep it coming. right now i'm leaning towards keeping at 16 cause like dclutch said, the talent pool decreases as teh # of teams increase.
