I'm there. When I saw pictures of this guy, I thought they made a mistake casting him as the new 007, but I couldn't have been more wrong. He beats the hell out of Remington Steele and Timothy Dalton.

pierce brosnan was the perfect choice. sean connory was bond. dalton was ok. lazenby sucked.

craig can play tough guy but he just doesn't feel like bond to me. watching that trailer, i felt it looks like a good action movie but it didn't feel like a james bond movie. hope i'm wrong.

Connery is/was the ultimate Bond.

Pierce got it later than he should have (contractual obligations)... but, I think he was the perfect choice. I wish he had larger library of Bond films to fall back on. I'd rank him second, only to Connery.

Never was a Roger Moore fan. Maybe it was the fact, he directly followed THE MAN... but his Bond appearances, just don't appeal to me.

Dalton... eh? Not bad.

Lazenby... ugh.

couldn't agree more. goldeneye was the best bond film in god knows how long and then the ones after were such crap it besmirched his legacy as bond. he was perfect in the role and it wasn't his fault that tomorrow never dies and the world is not enough were terrible.

Wow - Remington Steele second only to Indy's dad? That surprises me. I didn't enjoy Brosnan at all. To each his own, I guess.

And ocho, now that you mention it, it might definitely have had something to do with how crappy the flicks were. Regardless, I could never see him as anything more than Remington Steele.

Worst line in Bond history: "I thought Christmas only came once a year." (I think the fact that the line sucked had a lot to do with the fact that Denise Richards was the worst Bond girl ever, also.)

oh that line was just vomit inducing. go watch goldeneye..first movie as bond and he knocks it out of the park. the rest of the movies were terrible despite having the perfect guy in the role.

richards was a horrible bond girl but halle berry may take the worst ever crown. michelle yeoh was terrible too.

About dang freaking time. THIS is what I was waiting for.

I've read almost all of the Fleming stories (novels and short stories), seen all the movies at least four times a piece.

This is going to be GOOD. FINALLY, a Bond who you could believe would beat the stuffing out of somebody.

Connery was and is the Man. The right balance of charm and harm, of slick and pr***.

Brosnan was also a favorite of mine, in no small part because he pushed to make Bond more of a character than a walking promo for watches and cars.

Dalton was underrated -- his desire for a grittier portrayal came about 15 years too soon, or too late. His more flawed, realistic approach is what producers are trying for now, and what other producers also did in the "Bourne" movies.

Moore was too slick for me -- the guy isn't a covert assassin, which is what the character originally was.

Lazenby? Oh boy...

Craig can DEFINITELY make this work, but it all comes down to the freaking script.

That being said, Eva Green is a knockout in that purple dress.

Wow...I have to agree with most of you here.

Early on, when the selection was made for Craig...I was VERY skeptical. Quite upset really.

Seeing as how Pierce Brosnan actually openly suggested after his last outing, that the producers should make CASINO ROYALE and recruit Quentin Tarantino to direct it, in hopes of re-invigorating the franchise.

The idea stayed, but Brosnan got the boot :p Ironic.

In any case, up until I saw the most recent trailer, I just wasn't happy about D. Craig as a Bond. But considering the PLOT and the characters (Eva Green = easy on the eyes, but definitely not your usual "Bond" girl per se), I thought...maybe this can work.

The action sequences seem like a lot of fun with some added Parkour stunts and more practical combat. I'm digging the scars on the face of 007. Makes it seem more real.

For this type of story and the kind of cast involved, I think D. Craig will be more than able to pull his stint off as 007. Now what remains to be seen is, can he carry the mantle? The upcoming film sounds a bit difficult/contrived, but we'll see.

As for now, I am well-prepared to eat crow when this movie releases, and I enjoy it (I hope it's good).

Have you all heard on the other more exciting spy-front of the Ludlum series, BOURNE ULTIMATUM has begun production with filming and casting of the antagonist in Gael Garcia! Now THAT is an interesting casting decision!!! I'm more than positive that the BOURNE ULTIMATUM will be excellent (probably NOTHING like the book, as the previous two have distanced themselves increasingly as they go).

This fall has some great movies lined up. THE PRESTIGE, CASINO ROYALE, and in spring....300

That will be simply amazing!

BT -- Right there with you. Greatly looking forward to Craig as Bond, and Prestige is right next to it as my personal must-sees this fall.

What you guys didn't buy denise richards as a nuclear physicist?

And yeah, Halle Berry was pretty awful too. I thought Sophie Marceau did the best job of any Bond girl in the Brosnan era.
