|
|
So I received my new battery from Dell today, after finding out that my original was affected by the recall. Inside the package are instructions on returning the "defective" battery "for proper disposal." Here's my dilemma......should I return a perfectly good battery....or should I keep it and have TWO batteries?
Pros: Two batteries.
Cons: Defective battery could explode.
BUT....I've never experienced my battery generate heat....all the heat is generated by the computer itself when I connect it to the adapter. I have to admit...I don't know too much about the defective battery, and how dangerous it can be. So I'm here asking my good friends at LG for some solid advice.
Keep the battery.....or send it back to oblivion. |

I guess the batteries are made by Sony. Some are said to be used by Macs too. _________________ "Darkness cannot drive out darkness. Only light can do that. Hate cannot drive out hate. Only love can do that." ~~Martin Luther King Jr.~~ |

i have a powerbook g4 with the same battery and my new one is on the way.
i've thought about keeping it but then i realized that many times (and right now) i have my laptop directly on my lap. if the battery were to explode, i think there would be damage done to my meat and veg. thats why i will be sending it back. |

Send it back. What's the point in keeping a defective battery? If it does explode and it hurts someone close to you, then it's totally not worth it. If you sell it to someone else, then you're liable to be putting that person in danger without them even knowing it. And if something does happen to them, you can potentially be charged criminally for knowingly selling a defective product.
Therefore, there really is no point in keeping the defective battery since you already have your replacement. _________________ I'm like a Hadouken, down-right Fierce! |
