I've been watching more of him lately. He's a heck of a player.
Super quick with streetball handles, sharp from long range and a great finisher too.
too bad it seems he might not fit well with the Lakeshow, because he seems to be a scoring PG |

Yea, he's a good player, but the big reason why he can't fit w/ us? He makes too much money and he does not want to share the spot light. He wants to be the MAN: reason why he left Golden State.
Also, he plays no defense! He gets steals, but he doesnt make smart decisions on defense. |

Oooh. Tough one. I wonder how GA would do with a dominant big man like Shaq. Wade definitely can't shoot as well as Arenas. But Wade has better defense (though it's not much) and better interior moves. |

Wade is a better rebounder, only + .6 in assists (with Shaq + better teammates), steals are close, blocks are close (doesn't matter anyways), and Wade shoots a higher percentage, but doesn't take three pointers and averages about 4 more FTA a game. Put Gilbert on Miami and they represent the East in the NBA Finals. _________________ March 21, 1999:

Who knows. Would they be more successful than Kobe and Shaq? |

I wouldn't say more successful, but they would have a chance to win a ring or two...Gilbert is the type of player that will provide the leadership the Heat are lacking. He would set Payton, Walker, Williams, and anyone else who is an idiot straight and tell Shaq like it is...something that Kobe did (tell Shaq like it is) to Shaq, which I think motivated him as a player even though he had the hate for Kobe as a person. _________________ March 21, 1999:

Arenas has to shoot his team in and out of games...if Jamison or Butler are having an off night, nobody else can score. He doesn't have an inside scoring presence like Shaq, a rebounding presence like Haslem or Mourning, or shooters like Williams and Walker around him.
Wade has 7 teammates average over 7 pts (20, 12.3, 12.2, 9.3, 7.8, 7.7, 7.2) , and 3 average over 10.
Arenas has 5 teammates average over 7 pts (20.5, 17.6, 9.6, 9.3, 7.3), and 2 average over 10. (Note: 1 of 5, 9.3 is Jarvis Hayes...who has played 21 games) _________________ March 21, 1999:

I was impressed tonight...
He's got Iverson-class quickness and has a good idea on how to use it...
Hard to believe he fell to the second round. Yeah he's a tweener but he clearly has nice athleticism. |

wade can block shots well. but so what, you're on the perimeter, where you need to have lateral movement, and great instincts. wade doesn't have either of those 2. or maybe he does and doesn't use them. gilbert has slightly better man to man de. slightly. but offensive game is better. he still gets to the line with the best of em, and he can hit the 3 ball with consistency. he just doesn't dunk on people. which we all love to see. |

Don't remind us.
What's weird to me is, it sounds like this is the first time that some of you guys have really seen him play?!?!? Where you been?!?!
Arenas has serious game. But he is a little out there, too. |

Arenas has made it clear that he wants to be top dog. We already have filled that position. We're looking for a role player _________________ Hope for the best. Prepare for the worst. |

Arenas is having excellent season and he's main factor why Wizards is so good right now.
And we all must remember he's only 24. WOW. |

Washington Post - Gilbert Arenas paid the Cleveland Cavaliers locker room a visit following the Wizards' overtime loss on Wednesday night. He came to see his good friend and former teammate from their days in Golden State and Washington, but he couldn't help but speak to the man who combined with Arenas to score 89 points in Game 5.

This is one funny dude, he stole a throwback jersey from Chris Mullens house and went to practice with it, then admited he plays online poker at halftime, and now this. _________________ www.lakersbrasil.com

He is probably the most talented guy at his size right now in the league.
That said, I agree with you. He plays very marginal defense. His teams are always among the worst defensive teams in the league and while that certainly isn't all his fault, it probably isn't a total coincidence either.
But on offense? The guy is sensational. Grant HS, Van Nuys, CA _________________ Love, Laker Lanny |

Lakers tried to move up to get him in the draft.
He's an outstanding player and would fit well IMO because he's a great spot-up shooter but can create (and make) his own shot.
He has a history of "character issues" dating back to Grant HS, but so do a lot of other guys. _________________ On Lakersground, a concern troll is someone who is a fan of another team, but pretends to be a Lakers fan with "concerns". |

Gilbert is fools gold.
You will never win anything with a guy that plays his style being the main man. He's one of those players where people say, he takes a lot of bad shots, but when you're as good as him it's ok.
It doesn't and won't work. Incredible talent, but unless he learns to play within the offense it means nothing. |
