Quote:
For anyone who thought the 76ers couldn't embarrass themselves further, Allen Iverson and Chris Webber showed up late for "Fan Appreciation Night" and General Manager Billy King went off in an expletive-laced tirade that recalled Tom Lasorda's reaction to Dave Kingman's three-home run game.

Insiders say King will now entertain offers for Iverson

What could the Sixers get for him at this point in Iverson's career?

Iverson would be extremely valuable, to us, for his veteran experience, handles, and scoring. Overall, I like Iverson's toughness, and tenacity, on the court. Balanced with that, unfortunately, has been a history of off-court problems, and a volatile temperament.

In recent times, Alan has begun to whine, pout, and quit on his team. This makes me think twice.

That's simply due to the organisation's lack of capability to give him help. CWebb isn't enuff and giving those contracts to Kyle "One Trick Wonder - Occasionally" Korver and Samuel "Thank God For The Inflation Of Big Men In The League - I'm Making Real Money" Dalembert isn't necessarily what leads to a contending team. Ivey wants to join a team that can contend and once he's there, he won't quit. He will show heart, he will do what ever it takes to get a ring. That's why I would like to see him in the Lakers.

Yet - obviously - he won't go for peanuts.

Iverson loves Philly but he clearly can't be happy with that situation, especially playing in the Eastern Conference where they should have been in the playoffs.

I would kill myself if I seen an AI-Kobe backcourt not in an all-star game or the summer games

The Sixers won't Trade AI for anything less than Kobe besides they both need the ball I can't imagine them being unselfish together with that one.

Rumor of the day is Iverson to Minny for Ricky Davis + other stuff. I just don't see that happening either. That doesn't improve Philly and would get them killed by their fans.

I think Iverson might wind up in Chicago or NY.

Chicago can offer - Gordon + Deng + contract filler.

Why does Chicago do that? They need a leading scorer to carry the team in the clutch. They have a good enough team to make the playoffs and be competitive through defense - but they they don't have any go to guy in the clutch or when the offense struggles.

Why does Philly do that? To re-build and get younger. Gordon is a quality combo guard that is not really having the freedom he wants in Chicago. He would be a more productive player on a team with Mo Cheeks giving him full reign. The Sixers would have a young core of Gordon, Iggy, Deng and Dalambert to work with.

I really can't see him being traded. I can't picture him on a team.
