I am putting my streak of Lakers being undefeated whenever I start a game thread on the line. There's no doubt the Lakers will win tonight.
A little early to start a game thread? You bet. _________________ RIP mamba |

I'd like to see JJ get some time tonight. Sac's going to post either Bonzi or Artest against Kobe, trying to get some early fouls. JJ could really help out in that area. |

I'm just hoping Kobe isn't baited into a 1 v 1 battle against Artest after Artest's comments about "shutting down" Bryant. _________________ RIP mamba |

That earlier loss at Arco's could prove to be our demise. Flashbacks of holding a lead with 30 seconds to go. Shudder. Shudder. _________________ RIP mamba |

Our collective faith is all we have at this point. I remember LakerLanny's post in another thread on this. It's time for us to come together and support our personnel. Have faith. Lakers will triumph over the Queens. _________________ RIP mamba |

Lakers by 6. Kobe drops 40. Lamar comes up huge with a 20 point, near triple-double.
Kobe is due for a big game. A full week and a half he's played like crap. He was PISSED after the Seattle game. Only times I've seen him THAT upset was after we lost to Chicago in 02', the game where Shaq fought Brad Miller. Then, Kobe came out and branded 56 points into the collective foreheads of the Grizzlies.
Another time I saw him that upset was in December, when we gave up that game to Houston after playing SOO well in the stretch before that. He came out the next game and outscored the Mavs through 3 qtrs.
The most recent time, was when we gave up the lead to Sac-Town, lost the game. Then turned around and lost to the Suns in a blow out. He came out and scored a 40 year HIGH in scoring with 81 points against the Raptors.
Common theme for all of those games preceeding the monster game? Kobe had played horribly and cost the team with horrible shooting.
Kobe's due for a big one. Artest shouldn't have said such a thing on NATIONAL TV. _________________ Stephon Marbury on Kobe: "He's the only person on 'dis earth that can do 'dat. He guards people, like shuts 'em down. Then, to do 'dat on 'da offensive end. It's like 'Damn, I can't score on him AND he about to bust my ass." |

That's what I've been about every (bleep) season, even when we were worse. I'm glad to see someone else have that mentality. _________________ "In essence, the trade was: Shaq, Rick Fox and Gary Payton for Odom, Kwame, Mihm, Profit, 2nd round picks, a 1st round pick and 30 million in luxury tax saviings." - LakerJam

I was so upset. The Lakers should dominate them if Kobe plays smart which I think he will. He knows how important this game is plus he was really pissed last game. |

Most likely George will not play. Who's gonna guard Artest? _________________ "I think I've been forgotten about a little bit as far as what I can do on the basketball court,'' the Los Angeles Lakers star guard said, "People forget." |

I might get my heart broken, but I AM PUMPED FOR THIS ONE! This could set the tone and find what players have what it takes and who don't. If we lose I'd hope it's with a blowout, because I don't want us to crack down the stretch.
Go Lakers |

With Chris Mihm healthy, I'd take the Lakers by 5. Without Mihm though ... that's gonna be tough. That's a couple extra long jumpers we need to make ...
Or... Kwame or Bynum need to score between 10-15 high percentage points.
The only way we win this game since we don't have Chris is if we play some defense. They have a LOT of competent scorers so we need to force them to take tough shots.
I want the Lakers so badly to win this game, but if I had to put money on it, I'll take the Kings by 8. |
