No team will be fully healthy, though. And why do they have to decide to play defense. Why don't they just do it anyway? |

Outstanding win against a very good team.
Love this team when they play defense and move the ball like that. Solid play from the stars to the bench.
Why do I feel that the Lakers will not get the same benefit of calls at home that we saw OKC get. Lol |

BEcause this team is all based off front court defense. The Vogel team had back court defense as its head of the snake with the front court as its anchor. This team even more than the team that made the WCF relies on front court defense. They miss that little gnat Denis giving AD veryone that extra half second or two to get in place and contest or rotate. AR, Dlo, and lal do not do that. They miss that 10 mins of energy AD got behind him all last season with Gabriel, that Wood and Hayes despite more natural talent and athleticism do not bring.
If you had the same group of Dlo AR Vando Bron AD Rui Denis Cam Prince GAbriel they would compete with anyone every night. They just don't have that guard and that 10-15 min sub to give AD a blow. No one anchors more defense and is expected to contribute on offense or get killed in the press than AD
I mean I can look at you right now and even though I hate giving up assets, if you told me you would get Caruso and Drummond both in a deal based off Gabe, picks, cash, and the rookie .. I would think about it just because they fill the needs AD needs on the team nightly. And when those needs get filled, the defense would be filled.
I would tell you the same thing about if you could get Denis back and sign Gabriel to return the team or get Tristen to take a buyout and come to the team. They just need those elements and will be fine.
If you aren't giving AD the defensive guard and the energy big to spell him, then you need to at least give Bron a dynamic perimeter guy. A guard or wing who can get his every night, 20 a night, against any defense, off the bounce and with shooting. If you give Bron that, the team still will look slightly better just because Bron can convert some energy to defense and he can easily rebound, defend a rim, and body a big better than anyone not named AD. |
