I see what you did there. Sneaky way to get that “Official Welcome CP3” thread started early

Man, what is Phoenix doing? There is only one basketball. Why would you want Durant, Booker, and Beal all on the same team?

Hopefully Wizards release Paul and we can get him to play with his BFF LeBron.

Three scorers isn't going to get the Suns a championship. That's an unbalanced team.

Wow. I was wrong about this one. On the other hand, the new owner of the Suns is starting to look like the Todd Boehly of the NBA. The Suns will become a second apron team, but they aren't a lock to make the playoffs.

The believe in Booker with the ball in hands.

And for what it’s worth, Beal shot less than Kuzma and Porzingis. I doubt he has an issue shooting less than Booker and KD. He’s essentially coming in with the idea of he’s Ray Allen to Boston and Miami. He eats third and two other guys handle less than him, while making the max salary.

I would not be shocked to see them either retain Ayton or offer him to the Pacers for Turner though. They need a big with Frank, but either way I think they use their exemption on a wing this summer.

They cannot get CP3 back unless if he’s sent to the wizards and then traded again in a separate deal and bought out. But because CP got traded he got his trade kicker money to go with his 16M buyout if the wizards can’t redirect him.

What do you mean handle less than him?

Problem with the Ray Allen role for him is that Ray Allen played defense on Boston. Beal is a historically bad defender. Not even league worst— historically bad.

So the Suns have six players under contract and are $9.3M over the luxury tax threshold. They are $8.2M from the second apron. I am amazed that they actually did this.

On the other hand, Windhorst was right that the Wizards wouldn't be able to get much for Beal.

Great move for the Wizards, they wanted to get off that contract, and they did.

Suns get even weaker.

Hopefully CP3 gets bought out.

Why would you want Lebron, AD and Westbrook on the same team? New owner, new approach.

Wiz are a tragic franchise. Their sub is going crazy, but I somewhat sympathize with them. Cap relief is one thing and can be great if you use it properly in a rebuild, but giving away Rui, KCP and now Beal for scraps is crazy.

Windhorst has been on it the last 2 offseasons. The NTC was really huge here. Just kills the team's leverage.

Wrong guy for Phoenix. They need the CP3 skillset, only younger and more available. Better Beal than Trae Young or Kyrie.

You’re so understanding Barnacle Bill. I think if it was the Lakers, you would post pad how dumb they are in making that move.

Wiz wanted off that contract. That $207 million is going to taste awful in Phoenix if they don't win a championship.

I really do expect Phoenix to try to break up that Ayton contact into 2 or 3 useful players if they can.

Good trade for the Suns. No 1st round pick required.

Pelinka gave up a 1st for Westbrook and basically a 1st for DLO.

I never said that it wasn’t a bad move by the Suns. Just a very familiar move.
