Great win, on to the WCF! It’s going to be one of the toughest series to win in recent memory. _________________ "We are the goodest." - Shaq ESPN interview |

Super fun game. Crowd started out kinda anxious and then we were getting more and more excited and louder and louder and louder as the game progressed. And at least in my section on my side after a while sitting down wasn't a thing lol. AND it was a Taco Win! Onto the WCF!
Thanks DB |

DancingBarry wrote: | LeBron The Lakers started this game by spamming Bron in the post.
Bron only shot three threes in this game (made two). There was no settling. Neither he nor AD settled for perimeter shots that could result in long boards. Lots of activity on D. Near triple-double and his first 30 of the playoffs. | Not sure what "spamming Bron" means - lol!
Limiting perimeter/3pt bailout shots allowed our defense to set-up while allowing us to prepertly match-up defensively DancingBarry wrote: | Davis We did a better job getting him downhill in the middle of the paint. | DS inclusion the lineup provided more airspace for AD to operate. In addition, the adjusted defensive schemes placed AD closer to shut down the paint to make the Dubs depend on their outside shots hence helping the perimeter defenders DancingBarry wrote: | Russell Defensively, he really needs to get his flowers in this series. Quietly, he was not just doing a decent job chasing, but some of his help D rotations were excellent. | Not sure what you mean "get his flowers" - LOL! DLo was effective and made an impact on the game DancingBarry wrote: | Reaves We saw Reaves take the playoffs head on with some huge games.
Mark Jackson during the game: “He is a big time player. This is not fluke. No accident. He’s here to stay.”
Defensively, he had a lot of that Klay Thompson matchup, had to battle against Curry, fought with Wiggins on the glass and in the post (including one battle where he came away with the ball and sent down court to Russell for a layup). Klay had 8 points on 3-19 shooting. We were in his body and ball denying all game. | AR is Da Man!! DancingBarry wrote: | Schröder Dennis has been relentless in pointing out Draymond Green’s errors and giving him crap about it. All series. Multiple times in previous games, including that big turnover by Green early in the series in the final seconds. So after we stole an inbounds, Dennis went right up to Green and Green put the ball in his face. Since Schröder already had a tech from getting in Green’s face earlier, he was tossed in the third quarter. You know, for all the leeway they gave Green in this series without giving him techs, kind of lame. But Dennis needed to be more careful than that in such a big game. | Love DS' attitude and edge. The commentators were baffled and startled by his "suprising" 2nd technical that could have change the game at that time DancingBarry wrote: | Hachimura He had a dunk in the fourth quarter that reminded me of a Showtime fastbreak. Bron pushed out the board with speed, Rui filled the lane at high speed, and Bron no looked to him like Magic and Rui dunked. Flashbacks right there, man. | Magic to Big Game - DUNK!! DancingBarry wrote: | Walker IV He attacked and drew more FTs. He worked the high screen around Curry and banked in a runner. He sank a big wing three when Bron do a double and hit him. He’d knock down another corner three on a drive and kick from Bron. This is what we wanted Beasley to do and he just couldn’t find his shot. | He is great in short stints since there is a growing pattern of fouling while defending
DancingBarry wrote: | Beasley Stay ready | Hopefully he noted LW4's path to PT. If LW4 & Beasley heated up at the same time - LOL!! DancingBarry wrote: | Thompson The Lakers have Joker in the next series. What happens if AD gets in foul trouble? Bamba is light. Wenyen a bit small. Could we see some spot duty from Thompson? | Will Thompson get some PT in the next series? If we get to the Finals and play Embiid, Thompson will be invaluable DancingBarry wrote: | Ham Bron and Russell were relentless early on. The tone was set and they kept the focus on paint touches. Paint touches meant scores at the rim, freethrows and the pace in our favor.
Key Substitution: Schröder for Vando in the starting lineup. | Total Props! Right after DB (who should be getting the top props/kudos in recognition of his great work during awful and good games, want to personally acknowledge and applaud the great job that Rob has done to put this team together - KUDOS!!! Transforming a team that started 2-10 in an undersized/undermanned team with players that didn't want to mesh (Westbrook) to a well-balanced team with size/firepower/passion/focus/HUNGER - amazing job!!
Noteworthy:
They became just the fourth team in NBA history to be that many games below .500 and reach the conference finals since conferences were instated in the 1970-71 season, according to the Elias Sports Bureau.
The Lakers are the second No. 7 seed to reach the conference finals since seeding began in 1984, joining the 1987 Seattle SuperSonics.
The Lakers become the first team to deny the Warriors at least one win on the road in a playoff series in 10 years covering 28 games. |
