Looks like Monk(whenever he returns) and Reaves are gonna get more responsibility than expected. Guess thats why we got Bazemore and Ellington as insurance. _________________ How NBA 2K18 failed the All-Time Lakers:

This has the potential to get ugly.

Team coverage us thru UCLA Health, but I’m sure THT could seek Dr. Shin’s procedure.

Re: Horton-Tucker: Average lost time following surgery for an in-season ligament tear of the thumb is 26 games (~7 weeks) though the number has improved in recent seasons. Capela, CP3, and Marcus Smart all returned after missing an average of 15 games.
Something to note is that Cp3’s injury was to his non-dominant left hand.
Either way, let’s hope for the best and if he does end up on the fast track to recovery, then it should line him up in returning alongside Ariza (8 week window). _________________ Not familiar with the salary cap/CBA rules & how it impacts our Lakers?

Tough blow on many levels. Opportunity for some guys to get more minutes. Next man up as they say. Get well soon THT. _________________ Nobody in the NBA can touch the Laker brand, which, like the uniform color, is pure gold.
While I certainly appreciate how teams try to protect players now from long term injuries, I do miss the days where a torn finger ligament was like another day at the office for Kobe. Vitti would just slap some tape on it and back to work...anyway, hope THT has a speedy recovery.

Sucks to have both THT and Ariza out. Need someone to step up and eat their minutes. _________________ Damian Lillard shatters Dwight Coward's championship dreams:
There was a time when the Lakers had someone like Alex McKechnie on the staff. While he wasn’t the head trainer, he was key to the Lakers’ health during the threepeat era.
If they were going to replace Nina, couldn’t they have chosen someone with better credentials than Roger Sancho? Golden State’s training staff was NOTHING like Phoenix’s staff.
They can keep on firing/hiring new trainers. The situation won't change until the paradigm changes. Would love to see someone like Tim Grover on the staff, but he's getting up there in age.
I've had this procedure done and can tell you, it's simple but it does effect the whole hand. It took me 12 months to fully recover. Same with Mike Miller in his 1st season with the Heat.

I'm not sure that the trainers can do anything to prevent a torn thumb ligament. I doubt that the team plays Thumb War in training. Have we ever gotten a definitive story on how he tore the ligament? _________________ Internet Argument Resolved

Alright so we're going to have to run it like this(when Monk comes back...)
Starters:
Russell Westbrook
Malik Monk
LeBron James
Anthony Davis
Deandre Jordan
Bench:
Kendrick Nunn / Austin Reaves
Kent Bazemore / Rajon Rondo
Wayne Ellington
Carmelo Anthony
Dwight Howard
Seems like it.
By no means a knock at u since I also think this is going to happen but why the hell is DeAndre starting or playing at all ahead of Dwight???? JaVale playing ahead of Dwight used to piss me off so much since it was obvious who was the better player and I always felt Shaqtin should play when someone got in foul trouble. Look at Dwight. Do u think he will get winded or tired playing 30 minutes a night? His only problem is foul trouble and thats when someone like DJ or McGee should play
