Getting Utah when they have no playoff confidence and same with the suns isn’t a horrible thing at all.

After the Nets game, it's going to be really touch and go.

Assume the L.

Unless an early return from our stars, 5 of the next 7 games are likely L's (Jazz x 2, Mavs x 2, Celtics...Knicks and Hornets are the other 2 of those 7). That will put the team in the 7th seed (or 8th), and in the play in.

If there is a bright side, let's assume they return right after that. Still a really good shot to avoid play in with a win streak.

But not ideal...but nothing about this season has been so far

We’re looking at Dallas for AD’s return. I think it’s possible Lebron returns for the first game with fans because I think he would serenade in that. I feel like they’re purposely trying to manage expectation by projecting a far date and then allowing him the opportunity to return when he feels ready.

But he is still not even doing any shoot around or non contact practice, so I think he will not be returning soon. Maybe the end of the month is the more realistic one.

Turning into an interesting numbers game.

20 games left. 11 of them in April. 9 in May. The first Mavs game is 7 out.

Plenty of tough games even after the speculated return dates of James and Davis.

Not a lot of season left to get them back healthy and playoff ready. Especially with the pressure of winning to keep from falling too far and no rest if they have to go through the play in.

And no mercy from motivated opposing teams that would like nothing more then to keep the dangerous Lakers team down and by some small chance out of the playoffs.

Lakers need to find a way to steal a couple of these April games. Then hope Davis and James are “playoff ready” almost immediately. Because looking at how this season is counting down, the playoffs start now.

I'll stick with my initial projection. Both AD and LBJ don't come back, and lakers miss the playoffs.

He’s shooting every day and before games. From all indications AD is back within 2 weeks time.

Remaining schedule

April:
@ Nets
@ Knicks
@ Hornets
vs Celtics
vs Jazz
vs Jazz
@ Mavs
@ Mavs
@ Magic
@ Wizards
vs Kings

May:
vs Raptors
vs Nuggets
@ Clippers
@ Blazers
vs Suns
vs Knicks
vs Rockets
@ Pacers
@ Pelicans

Davis and Drummond are good enough for us to go at least .500 during that final stretch, IMHO.
And there's at least 6 or 7 games that should (and must) be easy wins.

I was told we would barely win a game with LBJ/AD out by some esteemed LG posters.

I don't blame them, they are still traumatized by what we went through in 2019

When Lakers is shooting well they probably destroy any team as their defense will always be there.

When Lakers is shooting decent they will still probably win it.

When Lakers is shooting blanks, they still have a chance because of their D.

Bottomline, they will always have a chance in a game because their defense is consistent. (Not including when they are playing Harrell @ C spot, paint defense with that lineup sucks).

It's kinda unfair that with the (bleep) of season that Boston is doing, they still have great chances of even finishing 4th in the East while in the West they would be trying to get into the play-in. And on the other hand we would still have chances in the East to be 1st.

Still a little early...there will be a little cat and mouse game in the standings trying to avoid the Lakers.

Utah and Phoenix seem to be banking on the Lakers not dropping below 6.

Ah, the rare ‘tank while the top seed’ to avoid us in the playoffs. Lol.

Anthony Davis coming back soon should give us the chance to take over the 4th spot in the standings.
