All these guys I had high expectations for. Who did you get most excited for for their upside?

I sat next to Robert Upshaws Aunt at a G league game in Santa Cruz. We'd specifically gone to see him play and he wasn't there. Drugs are a MF.

I thought both Russell and Lonzo would be hall of famers because of their style of play. Don't hire me as your GM.

Crittenton. To be fair, propensity for murder wasn't something I was evaluating. Saw him ball in our Hawaii summer league games. Think he drilled a game winner. Felt like he could have easily had a 10-year career if his head was on straight instead of 23 years in prison.

Von Wafer I always had a couple memories from Summer League in Long Beach. One was Rambis giving him some advice on a play and Von ran the ball up court and instantly chucked a three from the wing and Rambis was beside himself. So you knew the mental side of the game was going to be an issue. The second memory was after one of those Summer League games watching Von drill three after three after three. Not sure he missed but one or two shots.

Just goes to show you even fringe NBA players can have massive skills...but how you think the game and your mental focus is a pretty big deal in the NBA. Especially for guards.

Someone posted a video the other day of Brian Scalabrine (43 years old and after 10 years of retirement) just killing a guy who challenged him to a 1-on-1 game.

Those guys are so much better than your average "baller" is not even funny.

I think Javaris was the first time I started saying the phrase, "Most talented PG since Nick Van Excel." Not sure how many times I've said that since. LOL! The phrase has mutated a little bit to "most talented 2nd rd pick," which is now bestowed on THT, prior to THT, title went to Jordan Clarkson.

I had T-Mac dreams for Hightower, since he was supposedly more talented than T-Mac in HS according to Vicaarro.

Von Wafer was old school one dimensional SG. So I was hopeful for Byron Scott type development.

Robert Upshaw was supposed another steal. Don't remember any comps. Just remember wanting him to wake up on time and don't be tardy for practices.

Joe Crispy Crispin.. nice thick PG with some athleticism.
Deandre Kane... could drive the ball like Dwayne Wade.
Antonio Harvey... Lets go a little way back here. This dude was 6'11 skywalker. I remember thinking he's a taller Stacy Augmon, perhaps Shawn Kemp.

Can't pick a favorite "irrationally high" diamond in the rough hopeful. Loved them all, they like my children. LOL!

Was just thinking of Upshaw the other day. Forgot his name but remember being hopeful he was going to be a promising bigman under Roy Hibbert lol

Derrek Character!!! Was high on him too because I remember him getting exposure in the news when he was a giant 13 yr old dominating the kids in his area.

I was rationally high on him too.

That's actually the most accurate answer. Skinny HS kid, no wing has skipped college at the time. Yet we all saw MJ in him, which was "irrational" at the time. I created him in NBA Live 95 scoring over 100 pts a game before he even played one pre-season game. LOL!

Andrew Bynum. In 07-08, I thought he was going to be the best Center since Shaq. He looked potentially unstoppable with that size, skill. and athleticism.

I can still channel that excitement/feeling that I had when we got him. Like it was yesterday. Never had that feeling since. Kid was electric. And being out HS was just this different vibe to go with it.

C’mon, this is easy, Xavier Henry after that dunk but I also remember the delusion of Marcelo Huertas

Lonzo Ball. After Summer League I thought we had a transformative player.

Remember Andrew Goudelock? I thought he had a chance at being a dangerous bench player.... that didn't work out.

Ha! Wanted to add him to the poll and couldn't remember his name. He had such good touch! Crazy how fast he was out of the league.

There was one other guy I was super high on... can't reminder his name either.

He was a wing. Super long and athletic... Ariza-esque. One time Magic mispronounced his name and it was hilarious. Anybody remember?

I think you may be thinking of Devin Ebanks. Another Summer League boy wonder. Knowing Magic, he probably called him Kevin Eubanks.

Some names to throw out - Goudelock, George Lynch, David Rivers, Frankie King.

He was the best center in the league for a few years. Too bad his knees are made of glass.

He was very good. The problem was his height, couldn't play SG being 6'2 or something like that
