AD still not fully engaged on defense (which is fine), but he was a monster offensively.
Schroder and Kuz had selfish, low iq games going for 3 quarters but they stepped up big in the 4th.
On to Memphis. I (bleep) hate the pesky Spurs.

Gritty win, I was not pleased how we played in significant portions of the game, but we ended the game with Lakers identity basketball. Lots of AD-Bron, and Bron being QB, and a lot of defense.
Smart switch by Vogel to go with AD at the 5 at the end. That is when we are able to play our best D with this group.
Dennis also stepped up his D in the end, which is what I wanna see from him. More Alex Caruso efforts from Dennis, please. |

Lakers Win! 109-103.
Tight one down the stretch.
For as crappy as the D played for alot of the game, KUDOS to them for the way they played the last minute and a bit....lock down D, aggressive, not fouling, and Spurs were choked out as a result.
LBJ and AD down the stretch with big shots, along with DS.
Game looks ALOT closer than it should...I know, eye roll statement coming, but refs were really letting the Spurs be much more aggressive on D and they shot 10 more FTs.
Give Lakers credit - they won despite shooting approximately 40%. Go look at other teams, not many doing that to start season that win, most teams need to get close to or at 50% shooting to win (in part helped by a 58-45 rebound advantage)

Tight wins...blowout wins...they're all good! I'm not worried about the offense. It will get smoother, as the season progresses. The defense is what has a big question mark. Vogel and staff are going to have to do a better job of scheming the defense, to get the best out of Trezz and Gasol. Especially Trezz, imo. Lakers!
