Lakers have a protected 8-30 pick for 2021.

Cade Cunningham is clearly in a tier of his own.

But Suggs is a dream wing player for Gonzaga.

Awww yeah!

Looking forward to this one. There's so much talent up top we could see a guy like Louisville CG David Johnson last towards the late 1st round.

Suggs' value goes up a lot to me if he can eventually be a full-time PG.

Right now he's playing like an ideal wing in a lot of highlights. A TON of off ball action/limited touch time, but making great decisions and not forcing the issue.

Evan Mobley is really something else. DT is all over 20-30 guys as a sum and it's hard to keep up. I'm just eyeing guys at the top.

The clips of Suggs manipulating defenses with his eyes have been tantalizing - if he has lead guard upside, I'd feel excited to see him go top three. But even if he tops out as a good second option, that's a dude you can win a lot of NBA games with.

Mobley has been lovely so far. If he can add enough weight to hold his own in the post, he's the most exciting college C prospect since KAT.

I'll have to catch up on Suggs. Fortunately, I've found YT channels of extended highlights to catch up with.

This class is putting the 2020 class to shame, making Edwards look like the mid 1st rounder that he should be.

Caleb Love has shown flashes, UNC's spacing sucks, and it's early, but he's been underwhelming as a lead guard. Tentative, may not have the handle to offset lack of top end burst. Some interesting defensive moments.

Ziaire Williams is a gorgeous shooter, good lord, though he could stand to quicken his release. I don't know if he has enough first step burst or explosiveness in traffic to really be a threat as an on-ball driver, especially as a wing, but his pull-up game could be so good he could get away with being a 2-level scorer. Probably doesn't have the frame to be a PF. Not too shy of contact despite skinny build, but lack of strength has shown up on the defensive glass here and there. Looking forward to seeing if he has more passing chops and motion shooting upside.

- Cade Cunningham is a lock for #1 if healthy....everyone else is shooting for #2. Cunningham is probably the best Freshman in college since AD.

- Jalen Suggs is probably the biggest surprise early on. Yes he was a known quantity, but the kid is playing like a game changer, and has been since Game 1 on a champion level roster.

- I think by mid-season, Brandon Boston will make a strong push up draft boards....although he could slip a little early as that young UK roster goes through some growing pains.

Boston so far is 0/11 on 3s on a team with spacing issues. I imagine he'll put it together - he can't shoot any worse from behind the arc - but in a draft this deep the Calipari effect could push him from a potential top five selection towards the 7-12 range. Great value for the mediocre, but not super bad, teams in the league. A Ball-Boston backcourt for the Hornets?

Cade is getting it done on a mediocre roster while Suggs looks awesome surrounded by well-coached talent that fits together perfectly. It'll be interesting to see how he does against WVU's pressure today, which may be one of the few times he faces any real adversity this season.

If Lakers is looking for a sleeper. They should consider this kid. He might be undrafted in the next draft but has full of potential. He is already included in the Ignite Team of G-League alongside Jaylen Green and Kuminga under coach Brian Shaw.

He can score from inside and outside. Has soft touch inside the paint and has good post moves.

What separates him from other bigman prospects is he is also ambidextrous, he can shoot a hook shot using either left or right hand. And he has also has a good court vision and high bball IQ.

He still need to bulk up though and should improve his motor. Currently that is what he is lacking, but he is just 18, he has more time to improve on that.

Pass on Kai Sotto, thanks.

Right now, Jared Butler and Corey Kispert.

A future Hornets lineup of Graham/Melo/Hayward/PJ/Scottie Barnes would be super fun.

He plays like a distant cousin skill level of rookie Boris Diaw, but Diaw had the athletic advantages then.

The shot though....

You'd need a team with four floor-spacers around him for sure whether he's a PF flanked by a unicorn big or a full-time small ball center. I think the handle + passing + defensive iq/switchability could give you Draymond-esque flexibility on both ends while you work with him on his jumper.

Yep, he's a guy that requires some solving and hopefully there's midseason improvement. But right now it's very clearly Cade, Suggs, Mobley for me with an eye out for projected late 1st types.

The G-League HS squad and Tennessee starting games so late is really annoying.

Someone on DT threw up an early mock with the Lakers taking Ariel Hukporti - likely a draft & stash - and boy howdy, that would be a fun outcome.

Yeah it's way too early but Hukporti would be great.

Nice! I watched Kobe growing up and didn't fully appreciate how special his ambidextrous finishing and ability to change his release point in mid-air were until after his peak. It's great to see young players developing that shot release versatility early on in their careers.

Cunningham would look very interesting in a pro motion offense. He's less heliocentric than ball pounders like Harden and Luka and has demonstrated a willingness and talent for off-ball movement that his offensively challenged teammates struggle to leverage.
