I'm not traveling, and nobody is traveling to my place.

I'm having ham, turkey, sweet potato pie, stuffing, and rolls.

My mom's cooking; I've been with her since before the pandemic began.

How are you eating both ham and turkey in a small group?

All of us who are avoiding "Family TG" this year are heading to Scenic Hot Springs for an Epic party weekend. I anticipate a redo of summer 1998 this weekend!...

The six in my household will enjoy a traditional Thanksgiving dinner
except fried chicken instead of turkey.

Except for my girlfriend, no one actually likes turkey in my family. We've had chicken on thanksgiving for years.

But my mom swears this year the turkey will be different, juicy and edible. We'll see.

So we will have turkey and bunch of other Bosnian dishes and desserts.

There will be leftovers, and the group is not so small, as my mom and I have a sort of pod or group of people with whom we interact. My two aunts and uncle are in that pod, and they will be eating with us, in the backyard, in the open air, spaced apart from us.

Vegetarian family friendly: Tofurky, gravy, stuffing, mashed potatoes, baby green beans, sauteed fresh corn, rolls, pumpkin pie.

(I personally would go more gourmet but this is what the family loves.)

I'm staying home for the holiday. A family member, my niece, is bringing dinner to me from the family gathering. Knowing my niece the menu will be indescribable. At least 2 types of meat, sometimes 3, 3, 4 vegetables, candied yams, baked mac, dressing, pie, and cake. She makes homemade soup from whatever's in the fridge and they're always delicious. She starts cooking about 4 days before Thanksgiving.

Opened up the Zoom session at 1 for people to call in whenever while we are cooking. Wine starting at 3 as we cook. Similar sort of vegetarian spread as Chef’s.

That sounds like some good purée

That's soul food. Next time instead of ham hocks use ham shanks. They give the greens a different taste. Knowing niece. she'll have mashed potatoes and gravy also.

No, I have a friend who takes care of it for me

That's not a traditional thanksgiving meal. But I still support it.

I did turkey last year and screwed it up bigly so I wasn't going to take a chance today. Too much at stake.
