Colorado took 2 out of 3 in the last series...at Dodger Stadium. No excuses. We have far superior players to them, and obviously far superior pitching.
On the positive side, Lux may finally have figured it out at the big league level. Small sample size, yes, but when he's getting 2 hits even against a lefty, that's something. Could be huge for next year. Maybe even this year, still. |

Turner and Muncy are just killing us in the middle of the lineup.
Our hottest hitters are: Seager, T. Turner, Pollock and Lux.
If we somehow had these 4 hitting closer in the lineup, it might help us score more runs.
There we go, Muncy and Turner makes outs, but Pollock drives in the run. Go figure.
Now up is Barnes. Wish it was Lux but oh well, we need Barnes before Lux for some reason...
Ok, it's Will Smith now. |

My ideal lineup as of now based on who’s hot and who’s not:
Betts
Turner
Seager
Will Smith or Pollock
Muncy
Pollock or Will
Turner
Lux
I don’t think JT should be batting ahead of Will or Pollock anymore. Muncy at least has had an MVP type season to justify batting high up. |

(bleep) this Padres team. Is this their plan? Score 4 runs to take an early lead and then sit on that lead and hope it holds up? |

Pinch-hit 3-run homer for Austin Slater, hitting for Wade who had tripled earlier, and it's 5-4 Giants in the 6th. They get whatever they need, it's just amazing, and the Padres freefall has been epic.
If we go 3 back with 9 to go, it's time to consider skipping Buehler's next start, and then give him one final start of like 75 pitches. Maybe it will help if we advance to the NLCS. He looks gassed. I might do the same with Urias. And also limit Scherzer's pitches in his next start. |

Of course man. We all know they're going to come back and win.
That team just has that 'it' factor this year that they know they're never out of it and can, and most likely will, win no matter how many runs they're down.
The Dodgers, on the other hand. they seem to just give up when down early, even if it's a run or two.
Off the top of my head, how many times have we rallied to win this year? I'm sure we have done it, but it definitely doesn't seem like much. |
Like clockwork, Giants have taken a 5-4 lead.
They're just....better |

Agreed. We can’t win in the playoffs with our starters being gassed. On the other hand with Buehler on his game this team is tough to beat. And I want Scherzer rested for the wild card game, and Urias rested for game 1 of the Division Series (if we can get there). |

Seager 4-5. Wow
How do the Giants pinch hit for their cleanup hitter and get a 3 run HR? Amazing! |

Wade hits .114 vs. lefties. Kapler wisely uses him as a strict platoon guy. With 2 on and 1 out, he was for sure going to be a righty up in that spot. They've just gotten it done all year, these unheralded guys, whether it's Wade, Ruf, Slater, Duggar, Estrada, Flores, Dubon, you name it. Heck, even Crawford has had a fantastic year and he had been awful for a few years running before 2021. |

I’m still mad about that 2 out Solano homer last week in the bottom of the 9th |

That is more hits than Bellinger has the entire month (3 for 41). |

Honestly this team has been exhausting to watch. We've all said as much throughout the course of this season. |

honestly Im more concerned about Walkers arm than winning the division at this point. Id rather give him and who ever else needs extended rest than try to go all out to catch the Giants (which will likely end in disappointment either way) _________________ (bleep) Kawhi |

You might get your wish of the Dodgers re-signing him if he can put together a playoff run like last year and lead us to a title.
He's catching fire at the right time for us. |

Muncy hits it out! But the Giants, of course, just immediately tied the game up on a 2-out pinch double by Flores, then a fly ball double by La Stella, not even hit very hard but placed perfectly.
They really just get anything they want. I'm not sure I've ever seen anything like it. It's one thing for a team to have an amazing season, but this is a team of unheralded players. Even their previously great starting pitching has ceased. Doesn't matter, they just keep on trucking. Ugh. |
