All the award winners are gone. Lebron/AD only first-teamers left. |

Well deserved, should cement AD's position as a top 5 player in the league, despite quite a few fans on this board not seeing that and still yearning for Ingram. |

A top five player should be able to run an offense. _________________ Under New Management |

No surprise that the Lakers have the most All-NBA 1st Team selections ever: 61 now.
Celtics come second with only 35. |

So Shaq and Kareem should have been able to run an offense? That's like saying that a top 5 playmaker should also be a rim stopping defensive anchor.... |

Ball has changed so much
20 years ago you could have teams build an offense around AD in the midrange and paint. Even so, he did lead his team to the playoffs with 0 all stars and had a 30 ppg average.
But it’s hard to ask a big like AD, Embiid, etc to lead the team on O when the game is heavily reliant on the guard creating these days. Even players with better post games than AD can’t lead their teams offense that way.
And as you said RG, Davis provided league best defense. His value is more there than anywhere else. He is without a doubt a top 5 value guy. Now maybe not a top 5 offense guy, but overall? For sure. |

wolfpacker wrote it well even if I disagree with his ultimate conclusion. The game has changed so much.
As a mental exercise, let's drop AD on the Knicks from this past season. Do you think they make the playoffs?

In the east? Very possibly. I dont think they go far though. Here's one right back at ya:
Remember the offseason of Lebron? Rumors were we could get him and PG 13.
What if the Lakers had Lebron, PG13, and the young core? [and No AD] Think they in the WCF? Or better yet, prefer that over what we have now?
I've thought about that and IMO, I'd rather have AD. Dude is just such a mismatch for so many teams who love to play smallish ball - which, BTW, includes the two teams in the ECF. |

with PG it be like last year squad but instead of Lance, def upgrade with PG... not as good as this Bron-Brow (which starting to feel like Shaq-Kobe 1A-1B punch) |

A lot of controversy about Maria Taylor not putting Anthony Davis on any of the three All NBA Teams. Calls to take away her ballot are being met with people saying it is because she is a woman, I disagree.
Much like when Fred Hickman cost Shaq a unanimous MVP when he was on the only one that didn't vote for him (Iverson, really?) if you prove that you cannot vote competently (By any measure Davis was in the top three all nba teams this year) then you don't deserve a vote regardless of your gender. _________________ Love, Laker Lanny |
