I've heard so many people claim that due the type of player Westbrook is, that he doesn't fit on most teams. And this recent performance by him in the playoffs seems to have brought up that discussion again (not that it's ever seemed to die down tbh)
So that gets me wondering, what sort of team would be a good fit for him, and does that team exist right now in the NBA? Are the Lakers a good fit? And if not any team in the NBA now, what about teams in the past since he's been in the league?
Funny, a selfish ball hogging triple-double machine making $41mil per year should be in high demand!
I'm pretty sure the Knicks would take him off Houston's hands, they need a star player badly... _________________ “Always remember... Rumors are carried by haters, spread by fools, and accepted by idiots.”
I have watched Westbrook since he came to the NBA and the way he played with the OKC Thunder was the best we will see from Westbrook, that team was built for him... now he is just a guy putting up stats.
He’s going to be Carmelo in a few years, or AI back in his Denver/Detroit days. It’s probably in his best interest to start adapting and see what he can change to avoid that path which he is undoubtably headed towards.
That’s IF he stays relatively healthy. If he gets injured, it’s just going to accelerate towards that path.
He should start studying Ron Harper.
But then again, when you look at his contract, he may just be happy riding this one off into the sunset when the time comes.

Honestly, when his shoulder is fixed, you need to treat him like Harden with a different skill set. Shooters, and preferably a lob target with 3pt gravity too. _________________ Resident Car Nut.

I'd like to see him with a big like Towns and a running mate like DLO. The defense would be horrendous but I think the offense could actually be spectacular.

I think a more interesting question is can you win a chip with Harden? Kobe told him years ago, going for huge stats will never win him a chip. HOU has tried everything. Him alone with shooters, him with CP3, him with Westbrook.
Gotta build him into a greater system that incorporates other players that do more than standing around waiting to chuck up 3s. _________________ "Every hurt is a lesson, and every lesson makes you better”

CP3 could have worked. Ran into a historically great Warriors team. Also had a historically bad shooting spell. They likely beat the Cavs, although LBJ was on an absolute mission that season
Rockets did this to themselves. CP3 is a killer and they ended up trading him and picks to get a worse player. Houston is done. Who is trading for Westbrook as he declines and his contract hovers into the 40m+ territory the next few seasons? _________________ From 2-10 to the Western Conference Finals

Strangely enough their better option to rebuild is by trading Harden.
No one is touching Westbrook (there is always the Knicks, though).
Maybe on a team that has Durant, Harden and Westbrook all buying in together with years of chemistry.
Outside of that he's not the 2nd option on a Championship roster.
I'm sure he'd fit on the Knicks though as the team doesn't really seem to care about winning. Maybe Miami if he brought into what Spo was doing. Though having Butler and Westbrook on the same team you might be asking for trouble. _________________ How NBA 2K18 failed the All-Time Lakers:

I agree totally. Their team is done as a serious contender. They should move Harden for a boatload of assets and just start over. Maybe a dumb team would actually give up a 1st for Westbrook (Knicks! LOL), but they can't get much for him, relatively speaking.

That's actually not a bad idea. Except I don't think PG/WB ended on good terms.
lmao i'd love to see Russ on the same floor with Kawhi as the two primary options. I'm sure Kawhi def. wouldn't opt out after next season to leave only Westbrook left on the Clippers with no first round pics or young talent left. Do it Jerry

Why would that matter if they’re being traded for each other?
PG should be traded for either an elite playmaker or an elite big. Too redundant with Kawhi. _________________ Damian Lillard shatters Dwight Coward's championship dreams:
